The Wild Yak

A very clean and furnished hotel in Mandi. It is located in the outskirts of Mandi (around 3 km towards bypass from Mandi bus stand), consequently away from city noise. It's a perfect place to stay if one prefers proper cleanliness. Additionally, a small morning or evening walk will put you right in the middle of river Beas. In house food service is available and the stuff's hospitality is really nice.

Disappointing Experience - Would Not Recommend My stay at this hotel was far away from satisfactory. The service was extremely poor, and it was clear that the staff lacked even the most basic training in hospitality. Food was served uncovered at room, and shockingly, all the food was brought out in one single uncovered plate from which guests were expected to eat from instead of separate serving plate or bowls and no extra plate was provided to eat- completely unacceptable. The rooms were severely lacking in basic amenities. There were no drinking glasses, not even a phone to contact reception in case of any need. The tea bags were open and uncovered and not in proper paper bags. The menu looked decent on paper, but that was just for show--even basic food items were not available. On the top of it, some food items were arranged from outside the hotel. Most of the food was either overcooked or undercooked, making it nearly inedible. What made things worse was finding burnt metal shards--jala hua metal part of the tawa--on the paratha and omelette. It was shocking and completely unacceptable. Eating food like that is not just unpleasant, it's unsafe. The hotel itself looks incredibly shady and doesn't give off a proper hotel feel at all. It lacks any sense of professionalism. Based on the experience, the stay isn't worth more than 1000 rupees per night, and even that feels generous. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere if they value basic service, or even a minimum standard of accommodation.

Easily the cleanest rooms in the region--spotless, fresh, and clearly designed with care. For the price, it's an absolute steal. The linen felt premium, and I slept better here than I have in most luxury hotels

Our mountain-view room was spotless, spacious, and had a comfortable bed. The hotel's location was ideal for our stop over on our trip to Tirthan Valley. Rooms are clean and good. Best part is stuffs . Stuffs are well behaved. Foods are also good to taste. It was a pleasant day out there.

A decent stay and more like a pitstop if you are late for manali. Since its not advisable to ride at night on a bike, we took a halt here for the night. Located close to the manali highway, next to beas river. The rooms had decent facilities, with a good view from balcony. The receptionist greeted us well and the service was also quick. But, for a cold climate, it would have been better if the floor were lined with wood or at-least a carpet. The pricing was extremely high, and feels like tourists are being taken advantage of.
