We were planning a 4 day trip in Manali and decided to stay at Mother's tree cottage through a friend's reference. It was one of the best holidays to be honest. The place is run by Abhaye and Radha who took fantastic care of all the guests and went extra mile to make it awesome for us. All the rooms have breathtaking views of the mountains and of the valley. The food was delicious and home cooked . It carried local flavors and we literally hogged. There is a trail close by which ends at hidimba temple. It goes through pine tree forest and one of the most beautiful trails we have done. In the end we left with a promise to come back again soon .

I was quite surprised with the beautiful view and location for exotic holiday with local food. Clean heated rooms and friendly atmosphere. Music by birds and great surroundings in midst of fruit orchards. Pet friendly I guess and short power walks to Art Village and forest, Hadimba temple walk and to Manali Market. Staff is very helpful and feel secured. The overall vibe is very calm for musicians and photographers who I saw and think frequent this hidden gem.

Stay at the hellishly beautiful cottage in Manali was totally worth it. Excellent food endorsed with local flavors. Waking up to that bird's eye view of main downtown Manali and surrounds was the best part. Post evening twilight, the view was all lit up. Most of the evening's we didn't even feel like driving down to old Manali. Can figure why many Bollywood actors and singers prefer staying at this beautifully located hideout. ||Last of all "FELT LIKE HOME"

This is one of the highest cottages in Manali, with the most beautiful view of the mountains. It's as if the mountains are looking you straight in the eyes. The owners are amazing people and the service is one of the best. There's a lot of peace and quiet up there, away from the crowd. I loved it here!

If you are planning a trip to Manali, my advice would be to hold on for at least 2 Years. Major road construction going on and the Roads are in a bad condition.(3.8 kms took us 3 hrs to travel) Visit : 17th May to 20th May 2018. Family and Friends (4 Families with Children) Manali : Mother Tree Cottage.. We had booked the Mother Tree Cottage which is a 5 Bedded cottage on Kanyal Road.. The Cottage is very well maintained and offers the best views of entire Manali, Beas River and the Himalayan Mountain Ranges.. If you want to stay away from the Hustle and Bustle of Manali then this is the Ideal place for you to stay.. However there are certain Pros, Cons and Suggestions for the place The Pros first.. * Awesome Valley and Mountain View. Superb Location. * Very well-maintained rooms. * Quite place away from the main town. * The cottages give you good privacy and nice place to Chill out with family and friends. The Cons Next.. * Too far away from the main town, so going to town and coming back is at least half a day affair and with the current road conditions you better not leave the place... * The road to the cottage is an upward climb to the top of a hill and the road is very narrow, so taking a car is fine but if you have a bigger vehicle it could be a problem. * The caretakers are very slow in preparing or serving breakfast/dinner and cannot take decisions without consulting the owners of the property. * There are no Fans/AC's in the rooms (which are not required as it is quite chilled there) so it is imperative that heaters are provided and not arranged later on, as an add-on on guests request.. The Heaters are charged extra per heater per night. * There is an issue with the water heater. It takes 40 Minutes for the heater to heat up which is sufficient for a person's bath. The next person must wait for another 30-40 Mins before the water is hot enough for his use. That is a criminal waste of time esp. when you are on a holiday and must visit tourist spots and requires you to move early morning... So if you are a big group you need to take into this extra time every time. We were a group of 17 people and at that time the heater itself was not working (in any of the rooms) so we had that issue to begin with but thankfully it was fixed on request. * A bit lonely. So unless you are in a group you would find yourself alone as the cottage is left to yourself with no caretaker at the night.. * No Intercom facility to connect to the Main Mother Tree Hotel which is some 100 Mtrs from the cottage.. The Suggestions .. (Very Important).. * 2 Bottled Water (Bisleri) per Bedroom should be provided per room per day. * Heaters should be provided in every room as a standard and must not be charged extra. * There must be a dedicated care taker available in the cottage for the entire day at least if not night. * Cold Drinks can be kept in the fridge and can be provided to the guests at extra cost but not keeping cold drinks just because it is cold there is not acceptable (yes.. that's the reason the caretaker gave us for not having cold-drinks. We had to get the cold drinks from the hotel next to the cottage). * Extra bed for should be kept at the cottage. * There has to be some permanent solution to the water heater problem. We had been there in Mid May and not during the Winter season when it snows... These suggestions are some basic needs and if taken seriously would make Mother Tree Cottage an awesome place to stay. The Location and the cottage ensures that you get the best that the nature has to offer you but these few small things if taken care of would take this Hotel to another level ... My take is that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here but because of the traffic, the road conditions in Manali and then the distance of the cottage from the main town and other Water heater related problems in the cottage, we did not get much time to relax and enjoy the cottage or Manali to the fullest. I would definitely recommend this cottage and give it full marks for its location, View, peaceful Surroundings and Rooms quality and cleanliness.

We stayed 2 nights and 3 days. The view from Balcony is mind blowing. Neat rooms and bathroom. Yummy non veg food. If you love birds, come here and sit in balcony enjoy their chirping sound with cup of tea. Highly recommend.

The beauty of this place is it's location and the view. It's outside the chaos of the town yet within driving distance. And the view is to die for. The property has been built and designed very tastefully with all the right facilities in place. The staff is very friendly and cordial. ||Now the best part of the place, the host - Abhay. Thank you Babaji for the great time and lovely memories. I am gonna get back there soon.

Spent memorable two days with Babaji, the super-host. The property has a great vibe and a brilliant view of the valley amidst apple orchards. Had an great time at the terrace with a bonfire, cool music and good food. Will definitely be revisiting soon.
