Great hostel with amazing viewed and peaceful garden surroundings. The staff is super chill and helpful. There was a great atmosphere when I went and it was easy to meet other international solo travelers. It's the type of place where people keep extending their stay because of how much they enjoy it. Accommodation is basic but quite cozy. Also the food is great!

A Disappointing Stay My experience at this hostel was worst. Several issues made my stay highly uncomfortable and frustrating. 1. Food Labeling: The hostel fails to mark non-vegetarian food items with a red symbol, which is a standard and crucial practice. This oversight is highly misleading, especially for those with dietary restrictions. Instead of addressing concerns, the staff insisted that guests should research the meaning of non-Indian food names before ordering. Item Name: El-Pollo 2. Accessibility: Reaching the hostel during bad weather is a nightmare. Cabs cannot drop you off at the doorstep, forcing you to walk on a poorly maintained path, which becomes even worse with luggage in tow. 3. Room Conditions: The rooms are poorly maintained. The blankets and mattress provided were torn and even had burn marks. Moreover, the rooms are not windproof, making them unbearably cold in low temperatures. Staying here during winter or in cold weather conditions could leave you unwell. 4. Staff Behavior: The staff lacks accountability and professionalism. Rather than acknowledging and addressing issues, they resorted to arguments and deflected blame onto the guests. Overall, this was the worst hostel experience I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially travelers seeking comfort, good service, and clear food labeling. Save yourself the hassle and look for better alternatives.
We stayed at Orchard House in Old Manali for four nights in a private room. The hostel has a cozy, clean, and welcoming vibe, with a lovely outdoor area featuring sunny seating and a big communal table where guests gather to chat and unwind. Our room opened directly onto the outdoor common area, and while the atmosphere was great for meeting people, the noise was an issue. There didn't seem to be any rules about noise levels, and on one night, it was loud until 3 a.m., which made it tough to get a good night's rest. Despite this, we enjoyed the friendly vibe and the comfortable setting--perfect for those looking for a social spot in Old Manali.
We went there this Winter.... The Location is around 2-3 KM from Manali Mall Road located in Old Manali. Talking about Rooms.. we booked a Mixed 5 bed Dorm with attached Balcony that cost me around Rs 450 per night.. the view from there is too good... Food is Average. Now let me tell u about the location so if you came here there's no parking at Hostel.. if you guys rented any Bike.. you have to park your Bike on the main road which is nearly 200-300 meters away from the Hostel The place where you can park your bike.. is "" The Drifter's Cafe "" and then you have to go by walk to your Hostel.. Experience was soo Nice.. the Host Miss Mohini treat us very well her nature is so Friendly... I recommend you to came here by Auto... that will cost you around Rs 200 because of high Incline Slope roads ... . All the best for your Stay...
I loved this place because of the ambience and the host/manager Mohini. Food quality is very good. The view from the hostel is Fantastic. The rooms and facilities need to be upgraded.
I've honestly never had a better time at a hostel than here. The rooms are fine (with thick blankets) and the included cafe makes delicious food. It's a bit hard to find (use OSM), the beds are a bit short for people taller than 1.78 m, and hot water is a bit tedious to get, but all this is made up for by the fantastic atmosphere. It's super easy to meet others, and there are social activities almost every day. Owner Varun and staff are so friendly and welcoming they feel more like other travellers, and they have amazing stories to tell.
had a really wonderful stay in old manali at orchards. the people here are warm, welcoming, and ready to help you out with anything you need. it is a little chilly moving into winter months... the common area is really quite cozy and nice (also right next to the kitchen, so easy to order food and hangout!) and is outdoors so just bring weather appropriate clothing!
This hostel in Old Manali is a great find. Clean dorms and washrooms, comfortable beds, and a convenient location close to scenic spots and the market. It has a welcoming vibe, and the food is really good too. Definitely one of the better options for staying in Old Manali.
