The Hosteller Mcleodganj, Mall Road

I recently stayed at this hostel and had an overall wonderful experience! The property is absolutely lovely, with a welcoming vibe and well-maintained facilities that made my stay very enjoyable. The ambiance and comfort were truly exceptional, and I felt at home during my time there. However, I did face a bit of frustration when ordering food. The hostel doesn't accept cash, and the ordering process was unnecessarily long and complicated. This felt inconvenient, especially when I wanted a quick meal. That said, the stay itself made up for it. The staff was friendly, the rooms were cozy, and the overall atmosphere was great. I would definitely recommend this hostel for its excellent accommodation, but I hope they simplify the food ordering process in the future!

Had an amazing experience at the property! The location is quite convenient and central with approachable roads but still away from the hustle and bustle. In-house cafe and ample parking are the cherry on top. The staff is quite cooperative and helpful! Look forward to visiting again!

The stay was decent good. We have booked 8 bed sharing room. Fortunately there were only 3 people so it was really quiet and clean during overnights. Overall cleaning is also good and staff was really cooperative. One can go with this property.

Pathetic experience, won't recommend at all. We booked a 4 bed dorm and it was smelling as soon as we entered, washroom was damped, no proper ventilation or windows in the room. On top of it all, lockers were on chargeable basis. We stayed at a Zostel property and it an expected bare minimum, totally disappointed. The only good thing is this property is located at a good location.

Locationwise the property is good. But some of the basic amenities are missing. We booked a four bed mix dormitory during our stay and it costs 959/- per person per bed.There is no proper ventilation or window in the room. Room along with the washroom is damp. All the plug-points and bulbs are not functional. There is no locking facility of the room from outside. If you/your group is outside the room, you have to keep the room unlocked!! There must be some minimum privacy of the individuals' goods when you are not providing any locker! Hope they take this as a constructive one and look into these matter!

This was the worst experience I've ever had on the whole trip. The hotel staff were all young and seemed like children who hadn't learned about culture and manners yet. EDM is playing loudly on the roof from morning to midnight. The male and female staff knew it would be a nuisance to other guests, but they are making a fuss without considering the comfort of the guests. Some staff members were drinking alcohol. The male staff stared at me and other female guests for a few minutes and it was very scary. I ruined the beautiful mountain scenery that I wanted to see quietly. When I warned the staff, I started playing music with speakers at a loud volume that made my ears hurt even more. They occupied the rooftop and it was a nightmare. They had no ethics or consideration at all. The staff was very noisy and shouted in the hallway until early in the morning. Do they understand the meaning of their work? The location was convenient but most of the staff are under-trained and have bad attitudes which makes me sad. It's a nightmare for those who want to use their laptop or read a book quietly. Even with headphones on you can hear loud EDM and shouting. Apparently the staff here want to say that the bad reviews are lies. Should I attach the reservation details to the review? I also have a video of the awful staff. I think it's the boss' job to point out the lack of training of the staff, but they're criticizing the guests for being liars. I have a problem with their humanity.

Not clean room, stinky bedsheets n blankets. Rats in the room, whole night they were just roaming around and making noise. We booked for different room, they allotted different. Our room was already occupied by someone else. The torn and bad condition mattress. Our chekin time was 2 pm, we reached at 4pm, then also we waited for 2 more hrs for the room till 6pm. Very under rated place. Will not suggest to anyone. Very bad experience.

The main image shown online are actually of their parent hotel, while the hostel itself is located at the back -- which felt misleading. The private rooms are quite average, with noticeable wear and tear, and overall lack proper maintenance. Not worth the price if you're booking a private stay.
