Hotel M & Resort

I didn't stay here but called in on my daily walks for a cool drink and coffee. A high-class place with new fittings and a lovely balcony. The coffee was fine and the apple pie I had on my last visit was OK. The sad issue was when my bill came, I didn't think to check and realised soon after I had been overcharged. The unofficial bill on top of the 'proper' bill should have alerted me. The amount wasn't much in the big picture, about 120 INR. It annoyed me, of course, but then made me think. Was I to blame for not checking more closely? Should I need to? I would always give a reasonable tip, and I understand the economic difference between tourists and workers. In many countries, the ethics of life and personal integrity override the short-term advantage of petty dishonesty. In the end, these small acts of dishonesty still make India a difficult and often disappointing place to travel. The result is, of course, I would never go back to the establishment, never recommend it and will feel saddened that someone simply saw me as a target and not a person choosing their place rather than another. I know this won't change anything, but I do hope the management of Hotel M read it and reflect.

This looks like a really good hotel, placed at the exact central location of Mcleodganj so that you do not have to walk much. Price wise also its not that expensive.

I recently had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly nice and attentive, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. The food was delicious, with a great variety of dishes to choose from, and every meal was a delight. A special mention goes to the General Manager, Gaurav, who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. His personal touch and warm hospitality made all the difference. I highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return! All the Best !

Very old hostel, bed very hard. No toilette paper. Well sited, in city center with good view

Incredible place revolving around the main market. Offers nearby facilities. The quality of the food is appreciated . The hospitality of the staff is too good.

There was an issue with the AC in our room So they provided us with a brand new fan for that night & later they upgraded our room with the best view & some extra complementary benefits with high-tech instruments. Because they are unable to repair the AC . & They didn't charge us for upgradation. Despite all that the rooms are pretty convenient .

Pleasant central hotel in McLeodganj. Right in the middle of the Main Street with fantastic views over the valley below. Rooms are clean and comfortable with heating. Nice rooftop bar which does beers. Laundry can be organised cheaply. ATM and money changer very close nearby although former is tucked away by a shop. Friendly staff and excellent location.

I generally never write poor reviews unless service experience is poor. This was likely my worst experience in MacLeod Ganj in this visit. Once I arrived looked like I was the first person this afternoon, a lovely gentleman greeted me, said would I like a beer of soft drink as I looked hot, I smiled and said you read my mind, then came along another uniformed person who curtly informed me Kingfisher is not available but ultra was, I said yes, he said it will cost you Rs450/-, I was a bit taken aback it almost sounded he questioned my ability to pay. Then he said you can order anything from this menu, I said I was feeling like a Paratha, he said No, it's for breakfast only, it was not that it was not available but the manner of his NO was offensive. I said, you do say NO a lot. Being a career hotelier and leading one of the finest hotels in the world I felt this was awful. I should have walked out but being the first customer did not want to, I read reviews of the hotel most of them very positive, so maybe it's just this person. As as waited for the food, I noticed, I was served in chipped plate, the spoon and forks are dusty, the condiment pot tray dirty. The food was good, I have to admit freshly cooked but as I said the rest of the experience not up to mark. However looking at most reviews I might actually stay here next time as I loved the location. One person's bad attitude cannot be blamed to whole hotel and service standard anyway, I will likely give it another go when I come again.
