Hotel River Retreat - Dharamshala

The rooms were spacious, very well maintained, and if you remove the few new additions of furniture that must have been added at a later stage (due to mismatched and bright colors); you could easily mistake it for a 5 star hotel room inside with the interior design and color coordinated aesthetic. I was extremely surprised as I was prepared for an extremely basic type of room. The staff is also quick, responsive and fast, the woman who handles housekeeping is a proper professional and has a very warm presence. We got very detailed advice from the reception about which spots to avoid, where to go to make the most of our trip. The resort also has tie ups with a taxi service and will arrange cars for you if needed. Both drivers we got were excellent in their driving, demeanor and helping navigate our itinerary. Nice view from the balcony; but I'd recommend eating somewhere else. All photos put up by visitors and owners are accurate and room looks exactly as good as in the pictures.

Excellent property with great service and hospitality. Hotel is 5 mins drive from airport and close to most sights. The rooms are spacious, clean and have everything one would need on a holiday. Food was good. A home away from home. We would recommend to others looking for a hotel in Dharamshala. We stayed for 3 nights from March 29-April 1, 2025.

We, the batchmates of Malaviya National Institute of Technology ,Jaipur.1982 pass-out, had a batch meet from 4th to 7th March 25. We had a very comfortable & nice stay at hotel river retreat. All services, rooms,cleaness, location & hospitality was ultimate. Food was good. I stayed one day extra. Would like to stay again and recommend my family & friends also.

We enjoyed a family trip here.. Our experiences were all good.. Staff is well behaved, food is delicious, rooms & toilet are hygienic . so overall its a nice stay.

Vinayakam is best in serving there dessert, snacks and the refreshing meal throughout the day, the quality they are proving is the best in solan and must visit place for those who believes that food is not just a meal but a blessing. Highly recommend for all

It is the best location near the airport and the view from the balcony is worth every penny. Room service was quick and best and on the top of everything was food served. We tried almost everything from the menu and it was worth. Overall the best stay
