Mahajan Guest House exceeded my expectations in every way. The rooms were modern and well-equipped, the staff was incredibly helpful, and the food was amazing. I also appreciated the attention to detail, such as fresh flowers in my room and the convenient parking. A fantastic value for money!" "

Nice rooms at good price .... Value for money ....
I recently stayed at the Mahajan Guest House and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. I especially appreciated the cleanliness of the property and the quiet surroundings. Overall, a fantastic experience!"
This is a basic and affordable hotel with some nice views from the balcony. The staff seemed friendly and the rooms have a retro feel. Great location near Lakshmi-Narayana mandir and one of the best chai stalls ever is across the street. Unfortunately, when I stayed here in July 2022 I woke up with so many bed bug bites they were hard to count (50+). The next day I went trekking and some of the bed bug bites on my ankle developed into a horrible blister - not fun on a 17 km hike up to 3,500 m. So the two stars would be four stars if they address some of the cleanliness issues as the bathrooms also were quite disheveled and in need of an update. On the positive side, they have a filtered water dispenser on-site which helps cut down on plastic waste.
A budget staycation is good for a day or two. They have very basic arrangement in the guest house. One can stay here for first time or many. They lack staff and other services but they make arrangements as asked. I stayed here twice but second time my experience was not that good like previous one. So it is OK if you no other option.
Parking is not available here. U can park ur car in free or paid parking area(charges150-200 per night). had to ask for mineral water and replace the blankets, tv wasn't working. Arrange your dinner urself. No breakfast Price :800-1200.
I ended up at the Chamba Guest House last minute on the recommendation of friends and ended up staying 5 nights. I normally stay in chain hotels in urban cities for my work but this trip was up to the mountains for trekking and I ended up in Chamba for the week. The hotel room was small but the ambiance was perfect for a mountain guest house - again, you have to remember that you are in a small Himalayan town and your options are limited (there is no Westin, Sheraton, etc to choose from) so the competition is of a different type. ||||The pros - the view! Everyday I could open my window and see the hills and the snow capped mountains from the room. You can see (and hear) the Ravi River just down the hill which added to a good peaceful stay. Second, was the location - the guest house is right in the middle of the main area of Chamba but tucked down away from the noise. Within 100 yards I was able to get to the main field, chai stalls, the market, post office. It was the perfect place to be close to everything but away from the noise. Finally, the price was also a great deal! The room is a comfortable, quiet and perfect for your budget.||||The cons - the rooms seem to be a little older as the guest house is in an older wooden colonial era building. This means there are small repairs that could be added to the room. The bathroom in my room could really use some repairs - replacing some broken window glass pieces, sealing the windows better from ants, fixing locks on the windows, etc. In the room itself, the mattresses should be updated. My mattress was old and pretty hard. A simple fix would be to buy new basic foam mattresses that would give a better night's sleep.||||Overall, I really enjoyed the stay since I knew I was in a mountain town and was expecting a more authentic and rustic hotel experience, not a plush chain brand business hotel. The front desk man, Chetra Singh, was always around smiling and ready to help. I'd definitely recommend this place and should I return to Chamba there is nowhere else I'd go.
Chamba Guest House is a nice place with rooms looking over the moutains and the possibility to enjoy fresh air in the balcony. Family working there is also very sweet and it is safe as I was a girl alone coming from far away. But I had little deception because rooms was too much expansive even if I could choose a small one. Even at the beginning reception ask me for many rupees more. There was a problem of water along the wall that I didn't see first and then when I realized two of nice shalws that I cherish were completely damaged. ||||But I have stay different little times before as I was doing a part of my study and research and I was always happy with my stays.
