I didn't live there just went for a quick sightseeing trip. The place is quite isolated from Solan with a 360 degree view with solace and solitude. Road reaching there is not proper tarmac road, expect some offroading. I would recommend visiting this place who loves unexplored places.
We had a booking directly through the owner. All the booking process was hassle-free. We were 4 couples and booked their entire property. The drive to the property in the last 2.5km was extremely challenging. The road was in very bad shape and it was extremely difficult for SUVs to reach the Resort. However, the final location was very secluded and pleasant. Another thing we didn't like was their 3 rooms were very beautiful but 1 room was just average. So as 4 couples, 1 has to adjust in that room. Even fare for all the rooms is the same which is not justified. Our stay was mesmerizing with a calm location and mouthwatering food prepared by Ms. Rajkumari. Their hospitality was so amazing that we forgot all the road issues and returned with good memories.
We planned a trip to Barog Diaries as we were looking for an exclusive place. This was secluded on a hilltop. The road to reach there is a bit tricky. The path of 2.5 km is a rough and steep climb. But once you reach there it is overall a nice experience. We ordered Rajma Chawal, Kadi, Biryani for lunch and everything was prepared well. The credit goes to Rajkumari ji who was the caretaker cum chef. For other things, Mannu assisted us. It was a homely stay. Rooms were big and clean. This place ia not cold in the summer but windy. In the evening we sat outside and what we witnessed was a true miracle. It was the starlink satellite train crossing just over the sky of Barog. A nice place to stay with family and friends.
Located at the mountain top, it is a beautiful place to spend some quality time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Rooms are spacious and beautifully done. Food is great. The place has got one cook and a caretaker of the property to arrange the things for you. Reaching the cottage is a bit tricky affair as the road leading to it is narrow and unmetalled. I'll definitely love to be there again.
Barog Diaries is a cosy homestay amidst the hills that seems straight out of a storybook. The staff is prompt and polite. The food will be simple and homely. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You can do lovely hikes around the property.||The approach road for the property is very steep and not in a good condition. It can be a tricky stretch to drive on your own. But they are happy to ensure your car gets parked in safe spot and arrange a pickup and dropoff for the last 1 km stretch in their own vehicles. This means you are stuck in the property for the duration of your stay. But the house makes for a lovely escape given its breathtaking location.
It's a hill top cottage/resort in the town of Barog in Himachal Pradesh. It's a nice cozy place to spend a quiet cozy time with family and friends. I went there in a family vacation. The place has a care taker and 2 cooks who cook according to your taste and choice. We got Chhole bhature, Shahi paneer, daal makhani, mix veg, aloo Paratha, veg sandwich etc and all these were very tasty. They have 5 bedrooms in all, 4 with attached washroom. The rooms are clean and well maintained. There's a living room too . We had booked the entire place for 3 days. There's a plum plantation around. The gardens are also very beautifully maintained with some really nice flowers and succulents. All rooms and living room have a collection of some nice classic books of different genres. You can Trek to nearby open space, pick plums , visit a local temple in the village Mauri. See the Pune resin being collected. Overall it's a very good place to spend some quality time with family. The famous Barog Station is also nearby which is known for the haunted tunnel stories. The only downside is the narrow path to reach this beautiful place. There's a narrow path, which is not a road actually that leads from main Kasauli -Solan road to the resort. This is quite a steep path almost one way so you need an expert hill driver to go up.
A quick family getaway to this little known gem turned out to be a lifelong memorable experience . The approach rod is a bit daunting , but the breathless views, the homely atmosphere, the delicious meals cooked by Rajkumari and Rina make up for everything. The book collection is amazing and I wish to stay for longer time just to enjoy the hospitality. The guided trekking tour given by Ramu at the end of our stay was cherry on the top. Worth a visit if you are active enough and Upto climbing the steep stairs to reach the property.
