Gopnath Bungalow

This place was a discovery for us. Came across it through random search for heritage stays in region and managed to book it through multiple mail chains and phone calls. They could probably do a little better at that front. Now I know the place can be booked through Nilambagh in Bhavnagar.||||Gopnath Bunglow is a private property turned in to heritage stay. It is locally famous as "Rajmata ka Bunglow". The place was seashore retreat of the king of Bhavnagar - Maharaja Krishnakumar Singh Ji.||||The place offers a beautiful view of the sea on the three sides from top of the creek. The sunrise is extremely beautiful from here. The rooms are big and clean - they can be a little stuffy, but once doors are open on both front and garden side - it gets really airy. The place gets really dark being on the far end of the shore and is an excellent place for star gazing! ||||They offer the local Kathiyawadi cuisine which is very tasty - one can call them in advance and tell them what they would like to eat. The staff is extremely warm and friendly and make your stay great. Only things that this place needs to improve on is the water supply in closets - its the salty water everywhere.||||The road leading to the private property is practically non existent, while that leading to Gopnath is terrible. But if you made the journey you know every bit of it was worth it!

Undoubtedly a princely accommodation. A peaceful place, splendid views of the beach, sunrise and sunset, delicious food. The grandeur and simplicity of the bungalows is enough to amaze anyone visiting it. A must visit place once in a lifetime.

I visited Gopnath Bungalow with my friends as a much-needed Diwali trip was pending. We were 5 people, 3 single males and a couple), and we started from YMCA Ahmedabad on 9th November 2019 at 6:20 am. ||||The couple came in their hatchback since they had other programs on the return journey, and the three of us chose my sedan. The route was simple: Ahmedabad-Federa-Bhavnagar-Talaja-Gopnath. We reached Gopnath at 1 pm after an hour's halt at Gallops Food Mall, Federa. There was no other booking, and we were the only guests on this vast property.||||The main bungalow and the rooms are 1 km inside the main road, and the place is ABSOLUTELY QUIET!!! The beach and the sea are just 50 meters away from the bungalow, and we could see the sea from the premises. ||||The room allotted to us (me and my friend) was a HUGE room, with a big bathroom and an air-conditioner. There was no TV in the room, and the mobile network fluctuated sometimes, since this place is away from the maddening city crowd.||||After having a typical Kathiawadi lunch and resting for an hour, we took our DSLRs and started capturing the beauty. We had to walk down the pointed and slippery rocks to reach the beach. There were rocks on the beach too, but we managed to click some fantastic photographs. ||||We also saw the local fishermen venture into the sea to catch their 'dinner', and when they came back, we clicked pics of a rare fish (I forgot the name) and a small crab. ||||The sun set after a while, giving us some fantastic photos. We came back after 3 hours and after walking for almost 3 kms on the beach. After having a fantastic dinner, we sat in the moonlight-lit garden and retired for the day.||||We left this place the next morning for Velavadar Blackbuck National Park after a tasty breakfast, promising ourselves to come back really soon.

Read good reviews about the stay and it was really more than we expected. .||Rooms ... |We booked A/c room 102. Didn't needed in this atmosphere but room , bathroom everything was neat and clean. ||Place...|If u are looking for adventure then this place is not for u. U should get here for fresh air, chirping birds sound , star gazing at night, home made food, tranquility.. We found more than that. We found family time. .||Beach...|Gopnath beach shore is 1.5 kms away from bunglow. We walked there in the morning. If low tide u will only see stone nearby |Another beach we went was zanzmer| Beach which was very beautiful at sunset. But little far away. Have to ask for directions and can't go alone. ||Food. ..|Nice kathyawadi home made food by Ajay bhai ' s wife . They are very friendly and supportive. I had 8 month baby with me and they allowed me to use their kitchen to make food for him. Really very warm hearted people.||I was stunned by cleanliness they keep.. whether it is kitchen, dining area, terrace and the surrounding. Needs repairing but for us it was surely enjoyable trip

This heritage property is located 89 kilometers from Bhavnagar and is between Bhavnagar and Diu. The hotel has a wonderful location and is located in close proximity to various sites of Bhavnagar and several Jain temples of Palitana. This place is ideal for business travelers as both Bhavnagar and Diu can be easily accessed from here. A seashore retreat of Bhavnagar's Royal family, the hotel offers the view of tranquil beauty of the beautiful sand beaches. The rich European colonial style of architecture can be seen here. There are 4 operational rooms with 12 sea-facing rooms. What attracts guests the most here is the affordable tariff rate and luxury!

Perfect place for one day picnic with family. There is one jagabhai's dhaba, where you are served delicious traditional kathiavadi meal. There is a beautiful beach (least explored in my opinion) on walking distance. Path is bit rocky and not so smooth. But worth visiting the place. You can bring games like football and cricket and have a full day fun at the beach!
