The Fern Residency, Somnath

We stayed at one of the better hotels around Somnath. Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, and the reception staff was very sweet and welcoming. A special mention to the hotel tour operator, Ketanbhai, who was extremely courteous and helpful with all our travel needs.||We stayed in the Fern Club Room, which was well-maintained and comfortable. Room upkeep was excellent throughout our stay.||Now, coming to the restaurant -- which unfortunately became a major deciding factor for my overall rating. We had opted for a full board meal package. Traveling with a child, we appreciated the restaurant's flexibility on the first day. The staff was very adjusting and accommodating to our requests despite having a set menu. A big shoutout to Anisha, who was the sweetest server -- attentive, quick, and truly made us feel cared for.||However, our pleasant experience was short-lived. The restaurant supervisor, Amrendeer Kumar, was extremely rude and dismissive. He did not entertain any of our reasonable requests (which were easily managed the previous day), and his attitude towards guests was very disappointing.||I would recommend staying at this hotel, but strongly advise against opting for their meal packages. The food was sub-par, with a repetitive and uninspired menu every day. It was so disappointing that we actually cut our stay short from 3 nights to 2 nights.||It was also evident that the restaurant was severely short-staffed, with trainee servers working tirelessly while the supervisor Mr. Amrendeer Kumar appeared more interested in watching IPL matches than managing service.||Final Verdict:| * Stay: Good and recommended| * Food/Meal Package: Not worth it -- better to dine outside.

Good stay but couple of things needs improvement. Infra is small compared to other fern hotels. Lift installed is also of local vendor and not standard. Food quality needs big improvement. Breakfast options were limited. Staff is friendly and very humble. Appreciate the neat and cleanliness of infra.

We stayed this hotel and the place was very clean people were very polite food was amazing rooms we're very spacious and reasonable. gym was amazing and pool was very neat and clean. We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, where we found the premises to be exceptionally clean. The staff members were exceedingly polite, and the quality of the food was remarkable. The rooms were generously sized and offered reasonable rates. The game facilities were outstanding, and the gym was well-maintained and immaculate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, and I highly recommend it, particularly for those seeking a tranquil environment.

While the locals call it the best property in town, Fern needs a serious makeover/ refurbishment. The property has not been maintained and it is visible. Food was not good both at the buffet and in in-room dining. Not sure but the hotel felt understaffed and the basement parking was stinking and had no lights. Felt dissatisfied for the kind of money that we were charged.

Room was good and well maintained. Bathroom was fine but could have been better. Food has been very good. We took dinner as package and they had lot of options and quantity was too much.The food service was very good. Overall experience was excellent.

Negative star for their service. Firstly, despite several requests, they don't provide milk for my infant at the earliest and then even when they do, they are sending a milk that is just 100ml at max. Note that, I requested them to send me milk in big glass but still they paid no heed. Then they argue about charging for baby milk which by the way is free, even in luxurious hotels/Resorts. I waited 1:30 hr every time for my baby milk even after requesting for them to send it early as my baby was crying out of hunger. Don't get me started on the smell. Just by entering their premises, you start smelling fish smell. The rooms! Even their suite doesn't have a proper spacious washroom. Think before booking it please. Never stepping in this or any such hotel again.
