The Grand Thakar Restaurant

The Grand Thakar is a must-visit if you're in Rajkot and craving authentic Kathiyawadi or Gujarati food. The thali is the star here- flavorful, generous, and served with warm hospitality that makes you feel at home. The ambiance is clean and welcoming, perfect for both families and travelers. Service is quick and the staff is polite and attentive. A great place to experience local flavors in a comfortable setting. Highly recommended

Too much waiting, not value for money. They are charging 330 rupees for Gujarati thali. In many restaurants you can get better food in around 200- 250.

I heard a lot about this place so I tried it. Unfortunately it was not upto the name / reputation. Cleanliness is not their top priority. The staff was not well trained. But they are polite and ready to serve. The food was okay, but highly overpriced. I may not ever go there.

I ordered Gujrati Thali and liked it. I am from North (NCR) and was looking for good authentic Gujrati Thali. The taste is good. As I heard, Gujrati dishes are sweet. Though some of them were sweet but the sweetness was adjusted and blended well, that I liked all of the dishes they served. There was waiting for around 15 mins. Nice ambiance and the staff is really good and gives you the attention as required. Overall I like the food as well as the hospitality.

We had gone for dinner, got the kathiawada thali. The food was just ok, but the ambience was not good. There were more then 20 waiters loitering around making alot of noise with nothing to do as we had gone early and only after tables were occupied.

Food was really good. No one can beat them. but they have to work something in waiting time. It took 45 min on Sunday.

I believe that experiencing local delicacies is always a highlight of our travels. During our visit to Rajkot, a local recommended The Grand Thakar hotel. They mentioned there would be a 30-45 minute wait any day of the week, but assured us it will worth it for the best food in Rajkot. So, we decided to give it a try, and indeed, it was worth the wait. Since I was fasting that day, we simply ordered the Fixed Kathiyawadi Thali. It was truly amazing! The photo doesn't do justice to the taste, as it looks like a simple thali. We were initially skeptical because it seemed so basic, but to our surprise, the taste was unmatched. We truly loved the food and enjoyed every bit of it.

The kindest staff and management. Homelike food. Prompt service and happy faces. It's about 10 years, my parents have been regular visitors and it still Just feels like home for all of us
