Riverside Palace

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay in the historic Riverside Palace. Our bedroom was very spacious, comfortable and full of character. The beds were really good and there was a lovely sitting area. The bathroom was huge and the hot water plentiful. It was nice to have a balcony overlooking trees at the front. The staff were brilliant - they could not have done more for us. They were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were served in their amazing dining room and the food was delicious and varied. A special mention for Parth, one of the Managers. He is superb in every way.

It's a nice place, by the river side. Unfortunately, the dummy structures created at the time of shooting of 'Satya Prem ki Katha' have still been left in place, and looks shabby at close distance, besides being fake and it is context. The insides are very nice, and the meals are home cooked and excellent. The team is cooperative and cordial.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with a group. Our room was large, comfortable and very beautiful. We experienced wonderful meals in the very grand dining room. The staff were very cheerful and friendly. It is an easy walk to town from the hotel and it is also close to the beautiful temple Shri Swaminarayan Mandir. Gondal itself has a very friendly feel to it. We would stay here again. It is a shame that the garden is so bare due to the weddings that are apparently held here. It would be a very beautiful garden, backing on to the river. This was the only negative for us.

It's the best hotel in Gondal. The service of the hotel is excellent and food is also very good. The property is a bit old and does need some restoration. The mattress was not that good but the rest was fine. It has a very quite and calm environment. Have a pleasant stay.. Enjoy.

These beauties belonging to the 1880s are truly marvels to look at! Situated in Gondal, Riverside and Orchard Palace are the wings of the Huzoor Palace. Serving as some of the best heritage hotels in Gujarat, these properties are the reflection of how lavishly the Maharajas in the state spent their life. There are 18 high-ceiling rooms in Orchard Palace and the hotel also has a swimming pool and squash court. On the other hand, Riverside Palace has 11 large rooms with large windows from where one can see the beautiful lake. Staying in one of these heritage properties is once in a lifetime experience that without even burning a hole in your pocket offers luxurious stay in Gujarat.

This old palace in Gondal had much faded charm. The rooms vary in size, however, mine was large with a modern large bathroom. The furniture was from another era but the bed was comfortable. My room opened out onto a large first floor terrace that was accessible from the other bedroom at the back, on the first floor.||The food was delicious, with plenty of variety and loads to eat.||Exploring Gondal is easy as the market is only a short tuk tuk ride away.

For those who live in Gondal, they live amongst some fine monuments and have history on their doorsteps and, like most neighbours, you ignore your neighbours or pass them by. This restaurant (N.B. I DID NOT STAY AT THE HOTEL), is one you should not pass by. For a start, it's a restaurant set in palace grounds and it happens to have great decor - modern but look at that centre piece@cool car!|The food was good but the service was so attentive that nothing escaped the staff, Not even a fallen napkin. The staff were willing to ask rather than tell, request rather than prompt and go off menu for any diet.|For a small town in a large state in a huge country, this gem sparkles more than any European crown.|

Quite remarkable, all faded grandeur and Victorian kitsch...the staff are hugely hospitable and the rooms are without a doubt odd. Mine was vast with the longest walk to the bathroom I've ever encountered in an en-suite. I slept wonderfully well but this could have been due to the mozzie spray that I had the room blitzed with...Beware it is the riverside and the mozzies dance and prosper.||Great position and grounds, food ok.
