The Grand Midway Hotel

I stayed here for a week, Really good place, spacious rooms. Recreation facility is really cool. Breakfast is reasonably good. The interiors, lounge and music is really good. It is well located, and has good connectivity. Though the cinema screens are little disturbing, it doesn't count with other better things.

Beautiful hotel, spacious room comparable to a 5 Star hotel, all that you could ask for. Then why only 4 stars - lack of of a full fledged restaurant and more importantly, the staff (front and housekeeping) need to be little more straight. On the other hand , the staff at the bottom of the pyramid were wonderful and forthcoming. How I wished to rate this place all possible stars...

This hotel is located in sector 11 of gandhinagar on 10th floor of cinemax suman pvr cinema hall. Rooms are very much spacious and view from this hotel is awesome. But for eating anything better choose other points. Hotel is quite due to on 10th floor. But sanitation is not maintained fully. Overall good to stay here. I recommend this hotel for stay in Gandhinagar. It is 1km away from S T Bus depot pathikashram.

It is a big hotel. It is on the 10th floor of suman city building. Its rooms are huge and beds are very very soft. as the room is on 10th floor, one can have a great view of Gandhinagar, it was so beautiful. The ventilation provided was good. It has cinemax on the ground floor wgich is a very good theater and a very good source of entertainment. It washrooms are neat and clean. Hot and cold water provided. It has television and wifi. It is one of the best hotel to stay at a good budget.

To start with the room was spacious and good but goodness ends here after that it's terrible. Pigeon s**t on sofas in so called reception. I had breakfast included in my plan and guess what I got MAGGI and tea avoid this hotel.Hotel Tip:

First it doesn't look like a hotel.....staff are ok.... complementary breakfast they serve only one item and that too one has to wait till they serve..... they don't care the customer.......one cannot say it's. Restaurant,they don't serve lunch on dinner n their restaurant....it's on the 10 the floor and the building itself is shabby... especially when you enter the building ...only positive thing is Spacious room...but can cannot have prvivacy...I've booked for 3 days and check n time was 10. A m as I reached little early and I'll requested them to accommodate me for 1hr( I have specially mentioned while book for the request as my flight was in the morning, they cared a damn even after requesting at the reception and they have charged me extra for 1 hours and allotede the same room for the next 3 days for which my booking was already done...imean to say the hotel was fully empty...unoccupied and rooms were also ready ,though they couldn't accommodate) Never book this hotel....

The title is confusing - right.....|Yes.. it is indeed..... and so am I..... what do I say about it !!! Well you decide.... |This was booked online after not much of review... This hotel is on 10th floor (offcourse with lifts) with PVR Cinemas and thankfully DTDC Courier on ground floor ( as I often end up shopping beyond my carrying capacity and have to get it courier :)), pantaloons on opposite etc. ... So u now understand that the location and surroundings are preety good.... The hotel exterior is also very impressive which gives a very intoxicating rural big house type feeling.... the rooms are very spacious. The bathroom is clean..... so a perfect kind of feeling.. isn't it.... but wait..... take care to note that - there is no arrangement for food.... only breakfast is served in the room by 8.30 am, whether u are still sleeping or awake, doesn't matter.... though tea is available throughout the day....... if you are hungry- order online though swiggy or whatever or go out and feed on anything you want..... rooms had incomplete wooden structures from which came fowl smell if you happen to somehow bang the door and the wooden frame is impacted... there was a baby lizard too.... So THE CLEANLINESS NEEDS MUCH IMPROVEMENT AND FOOD NEEDS SOME SORT OF ARRANGEMENT..... staff were courteous..... |So 3 stars are for Location, Exterior and Courteous staff..... 2 stars struck off for cleanliness and food..... |So now when u plan...... do not forget to read this..... Happy Staying.....

Pros: ||1. Economical budget friendly 2 star hotel with Big rooms||2. The view from top is good||3. The 1 ton AC worked great (life saver or else we would've run away from there after checking in)||4. Approx 13 KM from IIT Gandhinagar||||Cons:||1. No bathroom vent or exhaust which makes you feel being in gas chamber and getting suffocated during bath.||2. The bathroom is poorly lit so difficult to shave.||3. The smell of the corridors and odour of hotel rooms is bad and makes you feel obnoxious. ||4. The flush of toilet does not work consistently and hence at most times you have to flush by water bucketing. ||5. Food - No food options - only breakfast is provided; and the quantity of the breakfast is laughable. There is no buffet, we were given just two small paranthas ( imagine one third size of a traditional parantha), 2 small sized bananas and 2 chikoos in name of fruits. ||We had ordered tea once and it was so bad that we dared not order anything else from their kitchen.||6. Dirty and Unclean rooms - The bed sheets were asked to be changed (which they did) on entry to room as we could see them dirty & smelly, the new linen used too was smelly and dirty. The velvet chairs in the room were thick dirty with old dirt. Previous guest's papers, cigarette stubs & smoke in astray were left in the drawers. Shows the kind of cleaning up they do after a guest leaves. ||7. The wifi does not work even after password being provided by them.||8. The staff consists of unprofessional teens & adults who are relaxed while dealing with you. They do not have any designated receptionist and no staff dresses. They are short of staff (could see only 6 people working - there may be more) and hence you would be asked to wait for your concern to be addressed as the boys are busy attending somewhere else.||9. The hotel has no visible signboard and the only signboard is way up on roof of mall complex and hence I had to call up the hotel to locate it on reaching it.||10. Hotel is located on 10 th floor of a shopping mall complex which has only one workable escalator lift (though a good lift). ||11. There is constant traffic horn & public noise from the busy road beside & mall outlets below the hotel, hence your sleep quality is poor & disturbed.||12. I am though grateful to the staff for having not exploited my tight situation when my train tickets were not confirmed, hence they allowed me to stay 5 hour extra on charge of Rs 1000 on request. Though I had paid almost Rs 2000 for the Luxury/Super Deluxe room for whole day after discount on MMT. They adjusted me, thanks for that to them.||13. The remotes of TV and AC were inconsistent in performance and had to be beaten on hand & its batteries adjusted, to make them work. TV remote did not have its back cover. ||14. There are no hooks to hang your clothes in the entire room except the bathroom. So you end up putting your clothes on dirty chairs or better option back in your suitcase. Can't think of using their extremely dirty cupboard almirah with torn oily newspaper as covering.||15. The bucket and mug of bathroom were dirty and on request to change were told they have been cleaned and are OK. So we took them as did not want to create an unpleasant scene.||16. Away from good eating joints which are located mostly at Reliance Chowkdi. ||||I had to attend an urgent work in Gandhinagar (even came on unreserved railway ticket), hence adjusted out of compulsion, as the hotel was located near the place of interest of my business.||||Take home message for me: Will never revisit.
