Visiting Kutch with Kuldeep bhai of Kutch Adventure India was an unforgettable experience! From the vibrant local culture and intricate traditional art to the rich history and mouthwatering Kutchi cuisine, everything was deeply rooted in the heart of his warm and welcoming family. Truly the best way to explore the soul of Kutch!
How to write about the best tour guide ever? Though that's the job that Kuldip Gadhvi does, he brings an energy and passion to it that puts it in another category altogether. Kuldip knows his stuff. He can answer any question, whether historical, cultural, geographic or political. And his answers will always give one pause, because they go deep and search out the truth. Nothing is superficial or casual with Kuldip, he's going to respond from the depth of his being. Of course if one prefers to keep it light, he'll keep it light. He seeks out exactly who you are, what you're interested in and that's what he wants to deliver. He has no axe to grind, he doesn't play favorites, he never opts for laziness. Kuldip is going to give you a uniquely perfect tour for you or your group because that's who he is, an exceptionally caring compassionate human being who is going to show you his love, and not in any false, contrived touristic way, he's going to share with you his love of Kutch, in every aspect, whether handicrafts, nature, tradition, religion, culture, food or all of it and more. Speaking of which, you may want to stay in his homestay with a family as special as he is and the best food I had in Gujarat, pretty much in all of India. Just fantastic! And then there's his farm, and then there's the laughter and the just plain ol' fun and good times. I spent more than a week with Kuldip and his family and we did many things, many explorations, in villages, in nature, also fabulous shopping with his wife, Ankita, lots of eating and lots of wide-ranging talks. Though I've spent much time all over India, Kuldip opened my eyes to new facts, new possibilities, new understandings and amazing new sights. My time with Kuldip was easy and profound, I learned and experienced so much in a relatively short amount of time. There's just simply no one like Kuldip. If the idea of Kutch is intriguing to you, as it was to me, there's simply no one who could show it better than Kuldip Gadhvi.
We spent the most amazing and inspiring 5 days with Kuldip and his family. We didn't know much about Kutch before visiting, but it's become one of favourite areas thanks to Kuldip and his boundless enthusiasm and passion. Five stars doesn't feel like enough. The family homestay is so comfortable - a beautiful space filled with beautiful textiles - and they really make you feel at home. Ankita and Kuldip's Mum cook delicious food, and we were always excited to see what the next meal would be. Kuldip was super flexible with each day, making a plan with us every morning based on the crafts and landscapes we wanted to see. But there was always room for spontaneous visits, music and stargazing! It was an incredible experience. A week full of learning, laughter and emotions that we won't soon forget. Thank you to Kuldip and his family. We hope we'll be back one day.
If you are planning to visit Kutch you must contact Kuldip at Kutch Adventures India. If you aren't planning to visit Kutch you should rethink your plans and include this experience of "Real India" and add Kutch to your plans. We spent 4 days with Kuldip touring the Kutch area of Gujarat India, staying at his family home homestay in Bhuj - and it was the perfect experience for the last week of our 4 week trip to India. It did not feel like being driven around by a tour guide, it was like being hosted by a friend who was excited to show us everything he loved about his home, the places and the people. Local Craftpeople: focusing on smaller producers off the " tour bus" track. Weavers, bellmakers, block printers, embroiders, quilters but not seeing just the crafts themselves, but meeting the families, joining them for chai or lunch, gaining an understanding and appreciation for the art and lifestyle. Kuldip also leads United Artists of Kutch so he is part of the community he is sharing - not just an observer showing things to tourists Nature and landscape: Our time with Kuldip was completely tailored to our interests, preference and pace. We gained an appreciation to the unique beauty of this area with a sunset walk in the hills just out of town; a sunrise motorcycle trip and hill walk ( my request - my husband happily slept in that morning ); taking the time as we drove around the countryside to stop and watch water buffalo enjoy a " mud puddle spa", walk along a gorgeous- and deserted - ocean sand beach, pause to notice a birds nest, a crocodile, a first wave of migratory cranes. Communities and people: Lunch in a traditional village hut - welcomed by the village matriarch proud to share her culture and family; waving with shipbuilders at work as we learned about their industry in the coastal town of Mandvi; chatting with vendors and fellow market goers - in the fruit market where we bought delicious fresh custard apple, in the intriguing meat and fish market, in the goods market chatting to the multi generations of store owners; greeting a Rabari shepherd walking his camel along the road. These interactions were all possible because of Kuldip's love and respect for all people - and especially those of his home country. Homestay: Staying at Kuldip's home was comfortable, relaxed - like staying with a favourite cousin. We felt welcomed as guests, but in that perfectly relaxed family way where there is no fuss and daily life continues. We did not feel we were intruding (something I worry about in homestay style accommodation!) and there was time and space to recharge alone with a book, and to hang out chatting with the family as the mood suited. And the food at Kuldip's homestay was amazing! While I love trying any new food, my husband is a picky eater, doesn't like spicy food, not a big fan of vegetarian food... so was fearing how he was going to handle this situation. But the meals we had at Kuldip's homestay turned out to be my husband's favourites from the whole trip! Kuldip's wife - with help from his mother - created amazing, balanced, flavourful vegetarian dinners that we both loved. For breakfast he was catered for with cornflakes while I enjoyed the best idly and poha breakfasts. Kuldip is a true proponent of responsible tourism; he balances the experience of the visitor and the responsible and sustainable impact to the community equally. The opportunity to experience this area through the loving, respectful and observant eyes of our host was everything we could have asked for. Highly, highly recommend.
From the communication before arrival to the moment I left, this experience was 5/5. I was due to stay one night at Kuldip's homestay and then head straight out on the desert safari adventure but when I arrived to his home (in the suburbs of Bhuj) and was greeted by his gorgeous, kind and welcoming family - I knew I wanted to stay longer! Ankita and Broodoola Bhabhi (sorry if spelling is wrong - Kuldip's wife and mother) are the women who keep the place organised and cook delicious food - honestly some of the best food I've had in India!! I ended up staying 3 nights which says it all! The Kutch Adventure was indeed that! Kuldip is a warm-hearted free-spirit. He listens to what you want to get out of the trip but also guides you as an expert of the area and then plans the adventure accordingly. I came to this area for the salt-flats, which were incredible to experience as the sun set, but the Great Rann of Kutch gave me so much more! We explored and identified the majestic birds in the marshes, we saw herds of camels in the desert, we even joined the buffalo herders on an excursion one evening. We saw the sunrise and trekked over the Black Mountain. We saw the local artisans produce rugs, block printing on silk, wood work and lacquer painting. We spent the evenings around the campfire with the villagers, we dined and slept as the locals did in the villages. I turned my phone onto airplane mode and was completely present in this stunning part of the world - thanks to Kuldip. It was an experience I'll never forget. Thank you to the whole family!
Review of: Kutch Adventures India We took 4 day trip to Bhuj in Feb 22 and decided to be guided by Kuldeep and take home stay offered by him. We were a little skeptical initially, since it was the first ever home stay in my life, but it turned out to be fantastic & we really loved it. Kuldeep and his magical family really make you feel absolutely comfortable and at home. The day began with lovely breakfast prepared by his mom and ended with local traditional dinner served in the small garden cultivated by Kuldeep. The local almond trees in the small garden attract you the most with its colourful big leaves. Our trip was very methodically planned by Kuldip which covered most parts of Bhuj including local sight seeing, The majestic Bhagwan Swaminarayan temple, White Rann, Rann Utsav, Dhola Vira (Harappan civilisation), small villages rich in local handicraft can be witnessed, Mandvi the beach and Unique Ship Building Yard. Kuldeep himself is a nature lover, very kind hearted, knowledgable, and loves to promote weaker section of society with skills. My review would be incomplete if I do not mention Gani Bhai who drove us around Kutch, sweet natured, trained by Kuldeep and knows the region backwards.
Kutch Adventures is an amazing experience! We met this crazy indian guide who took us to local places and we experienced Indian life the way it is. We are so happy we met him and his family because they all are so nice and lovely. We Will never forget them and these three days! Thank you Kuldip!
