I booked this hotel based on its high ratings and the beautiful pictures on their website, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. The property looked very different from the photos I saw online. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by how shabby and worn down the entire place appeared.|The room, while functional, felt outdated and not well-maintained. The furniture was old, the walls had visible wear and tear, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. I was expecting a much more comfortable and inviting space based on the online images, but it didn't live up to that standard.|Another major concern was the lack of privacy in the rooms. I had booked a suite on the ground floor, but the lack of privacy was a real issue. There were clothes drying outside the rooms that were highly visible while walking around the property, which added to the feeling of being in a very public space. The "pool view" rooms were also not as advertised -- they were directly on the pool side with zero privacy. If you opened the door, water splashed right into the room, which made it impossible to enjoy the view without compromising your comfort.|I initially booked a ground-floor suite but, due to the privacy concerns, I requested a room on the first floor. I agreed to downgrade my room to resolve the privacy issue, but it was frustrating that such a major detail wasn't made clear when I made the reservation.|The restaurant was another huge letdown. The chairs were broken, the tables were dirty, and the overall atmosphere was far from what I had expected based on the photos. Breakfast was poorly managed, and given the number of guests, it was chaotic. There was even a fight between guests over food, which really reflected the lack of organization in handling the crowd.|To make matters worse, the pool area, which I had been looking forward to, was also in poor condition. The pool was unkempt, and the surrounding area was neglected. I couldn't help but feel misled by the photos that showed a pristine, relaxing space.|Another big issue was the lack of service and security. When I returned to the hotel around 2 AM, there was no one at the reception, and the hotel was completely dark. As a guest, I was expecting the property to be well-lit and have someone available at all times, especially at night. It felt very unsafe and unprofessional.|I also made multiple requests to meet with the manager, but every time I was given an excuse -- "the manager is on the road," "he's in the washroom," etc. No one even bothered to ask why I was checking out early, other than one very kind housekeeping staff member who was genuinely concerned about my experience.|Additionally, the kids' area was poorly maintained. The slides and swings were broken, which is a serious safety concern. This lack of attention to maintenance could easily lead to accidents, and it was very disappointing to see that such an important area for families was so neglected.|Given all these issues, I decided to check out early and book another hotel for the remainder of my trip. Unfortunately, there was no refund for the unused nights. The prices at this hotel are on par with some high-quality 5-star properties, so I expected far better in terms of both service and amenities.|I understand that pictures may not always tell the full story, but the difference between what was shown online and the reality was too stark to ignore. I would strongly suggest that the hotel update their photos to give potential guests a more accurate representation of what they will actually experience.|Overall, I was disappointed with my stay, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to others based on my experience.

Our stay here was smooth and hassle-free. The property features direct beach access, a generous food spread, and a large swimming pool. The staff was helpful, and there were two small shops on-site for purchasing beach accessories at competitive prices. Just outside the gate, a bike and car rental service is available. However, my experience during the two-night, one-day stay was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. Here are the major concerns I faced: Lack of Room Safety: The rooms were highly insecure. Doors were made of plastic frames and plain glass, with no proper safety locks. It would be easy for anyone to force entry. Unprofessional and Arrogant Staff: The staff were rude and uncooperative throughout the stay. Unhygienic Conditions: The toilet flushing water was black in color and emitted a foul smell. Poor Food Quality: The food served was of substandard quality, and my wife suffered from food poisoning after consuming it. No Checkout Documentation: During checkout, we were not provided with any bills or documents. We were assured they would be emailed to us, but we have not received anything to date. Suggestion: I strongly advise others not to book this property. The premises are misrepresented online, and in the event of any issue, there is no support or accountability from the management.

My Honest Review of Hotel Estrela Do Mar (9th to 13th April Stay)||I'm back with my review. We stayed at Hotel Estrela Do Mar on Calangute Beach from 9th to 13th April. The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic, the rooms are nice, and the food tastes good too. ||**But**--and it's a big *but*--the service is the worst I've ever experienced. From the reception to the restaurant, the service was absolutely pathetic. I've never seen such poor service anywhere. ||What made things worse was the attitude of the staff. They were neither helpful nor cooperative about anything. Their behavior was extremely disappointing.||Overall, my experience was horrible. Not a good hotel It doesn't have private beach Rooms very small and full of repairs U can't open window, if at all with much effort if u r able to open then u cannot close window Service pathetic And doesn't seem to be safe. Highly I don't recommend for family Not safe for aged people as there is no lift And staircase metal supports doesn't support to hold. Only jacuzzi is moderately good But don't choose this hotel in trip advisor or anywhere

Excellent close to the beach resort. The best part of this resort was the staff, their politeness and their extremely helpful nature. Right from our check-in to the checkout, we had a great experience with any help that we needed. Housekeeping did an excellent job everyday and the best top notch service was by the gentleman managing the pool area. Always greeted everyone with a smile. Amazing behavior. The resort is super close to the beach (5 min walk) and easily accessible through the hotel's private walkway, which also has a foot wash station for you to use when back from the beach. Very thoughtful. There are cottages (wooden) and regular rooms, both of which we booked for our stay. While the cottage was very peaceful, our standard room was next to an area undergoing construction and we heard construction noises constantly, drilling right in our ears. That was a bit annoying. The only bad experience I had was with the non veg live counter agent, who was quite rude, to everyone. For that, and the drilling noises, reducing 1 star. Otherwise 5/5 experience. Lavish breakfast experience, dinner buffet was okay okay.

Pathetic Experience - Not Worth Even If It's Free! I had one of the worst experiences at Estrela Do Mar Beach Resort - A Beach Property Goa. The staff was completely uncooperative. In the middle of a conversation, the receptionist just disconnected the phone -- no explanation, no callback. That says a lot about their professionalism. I repeatedly requested for drinking water to be refilled, but no one bothered to respond. Eventually, I had to go to the restaurant myself, only to find the staff glued to the IPL match and showing zero interest in helping guests. It's shocking that basic hospitality is missing at a so-called beach resort. This place doesn't even deserve a one-star rating. I wouldn't recommend this resort even if they offered to stay for free. Absolutely pathetic service -- I've never seen anything like it in any hotel I've stayed at.
