Le Manoir du Guern

Lovely building, lovingly restored complete with moat. The grounds are lovely to walk around. Room very clean, bathroom lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable. The down side is there is no lounge to relax in when you get back from a meal in town.

We cannot find enough great words to describe this beautiful place. We had a peek in the self contained cottages which are superbly appointed with everything you could possibly need for self catering. As we were a group of five we decided to stay in the big manor. Our hosts, Frederique and Bernard are the very epitome of hospitality!! They have renovated and decorated this grand and beautiful manor with exquisite taste. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. With their vast knowledge of everything to visit in the area, and a willingness to help guests with planning anything and everything (including visits to the local nurse for a dressing change), our hosts merit our profound thanks.

We booked at the very last minute on a Sunday due to unsuitable accommodation elsewhere and we were very glad we came to Le manoir du Guern instead! Frederique and Bernard came out to meet us as we arrived despite our last minute booking and were extremely welcoming. The room was lovely, with a beautiful view of the garden. The entire property has been renovated with a labour of love. They clearly love what they do and it shows: from the delicious breakfast to excellent dinner reservations everything was brilliant. The pool and sauna are a brilliant extra touch. We'll definitely be coming to stay again! Merci beaucoup !

Frederique and Bernard were very welcoming, helped us with our luggage and easily speak English. They gave us great suggestions on what to do in the area and served a delicious and creative breakfast that included cooked to order eggs, wonderful cappuccino and other items that were delightfully fresh and homemade. Our room was lovely with windows that overlooked the courtyard and the moat and the bathroom included a walk in shower with a door! The architecture of the manor has been beautifully restored by Frederique and Bernard using the existing stones and the decor is a wonderful mix of old and new that is just delightful! They are located in the countryside but are so close to many towns on the water and restaurants... We will definitely look forward to returning here again next year!

This is a very special place to stay. With hosts Frederica and Bernard that go above and beyond to accommodate your every need. We had 3 rooms, each with such comfortable beds and pillows. The pool and sauna fantastic. Make this your stay. No regrets

We stayed here for a couple of nights in July 2023. Wow! What a wonderful place! It's a gorgeous manor house, beautifully restored, in a lovely, peaceful location. The rooms are spacious, with great facilities, and breakfast is 'the best ever!'. The hosts, Frederique and Bernard, are lovely and very helpful. It's a joy to stay with them. I booked for 3 nights at the Manoir Du Guern in late October while visiting a friend in Pluvigner and my wife, and I had a very pleasant stay there. The city may not be the most picturesque city in Brittany, but the place is a good home base as most of the "must-see" places in the region are within easy reach.||The grounds around the Manoir are beautiful. From the gate, you take a long driveway and a bridge over the moat surrounding the building to get to the courtyard. It is a short drive which makes you in the mood for a relaxed stay. The Manoir itself is in an old building from the 16th century which has a rich history and served as a parsonage for more than two centuries (the Manoir website has an interesting section on the history of the building). It has been lovingly restored by Bernard and Frederique, the current owners, who took great care of keeping the original DNA of the building while bringing modern amenities. The end result is that you get the best of two worlds: A place where you feel that you are in an historic building (inside and outside) but which is also comfortable. I had some concern before hand that heating would be a problem in an old building, but it was an unnecessary worry: it was easy and fast to get the room at a pleasant temperature. There are also an indoor pool and a sauna. ||Last but not least, Frederique et Bernard are very pleasant and helpful hosts who are making sure that their guests have a great stay in that beautiful place||Highly recommended|

Incredible experience!! The area is super quiet and an ideal place to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. Everything in the rooms is top quality, including a very comfortable large bed and a modern bathroom. The breakfast is amazing with a large variety of different and fresh food. Last, but not least: Frederique & Bernard are the perfect hosts who make you feel like home and part of their family from the first second. Merci beaucoup for a superb time!
