Shangri-La Dubai

My husband and I travelled over from Australia in February this year. We immediately felt welcomed by Staff their service was the best we have ever had at any place we have stayed. I honestly loved they all went above and beyond for us. We booked the horizon premier suite. The daily surprises from the cleaning staff with "suprise" flowers on my bed and towel animals were a lovely touch. The Horizon club staff were amazing Maya. Keith,Saw all were wonderful every morning we were greeted and a lovely smile from the concierge staff and the horizon team which made our day so much better. The door man were very attentive and made sure we were looked after put us into the taxi asked where we wanted to go. Opening doors walking us to the lift and pressing the button. Service was a very big highlight of this establishment. The food was amazing every day in the horizon afternoon tea and evening canapes were made fresh by the pastry chef and all different savoury and sweets awaiting to tempt the taste buds. The evening cocktails were wonderful. We met the manager "Chris" who was down to earth very helpful and sat down for a chat with us. I Thank you Shangri-la Dubai for making this a very special trip for us both and I will return one day.

Once again, we had an amazing stay at the Shangri La Dubai. And I have found out the reason why my stay in Dubai is always great when I stay at the Shang, it's because of the staff members of the Horizon Club Lounge. ||||They really make all the difference in the world if one has a normal to good stay or an exceptionally fantastic stay at your hotel.||||Special mention for our family-away-from-home who made us realise that we can stop looking for any other hotel in Dubai when we return because this is where the heart is.||||Hanif the shuttle bus driver - his kindness and hospitality overflows. He's polite, helpful, very prompt and always ready to assist. A definite asset to the Shangri-La Dubai. ||The Horizon Club staff - Kopila, Janeth, Keith, Erika, Law and the rest, you have TOP-level service staff. ||||They welcome you every single time with open arms, anticipate your every need, even before you know what you want. They're warm and friendly, and nothing is ever too much for them. There's a very positive atmosphere at the lounge and we loved every single time we hung out there. The catering at the lounge is also impeccable, breakfast, tea and cocktail-hour. It's really top-notch. ||||Can't wait for our next trip to Dubai. It's beginning to feel like we visit Dubai for the Shangri-La and not for Dubai itself ;)

We had an excellent time at Shangri-La Dubai.||From the very first beginning till the last second. The warm welcome in the horizon lounge as we arrived early in the morning was awesome. As we enjoyed our perfect breakfast, the staff put efforts to make our room ready meanwhile and made it right after our breakfast. Every single staff member, especially in the horizon lounge, Nikhil, Zeynab, Dipen, Satura,... were very attentive, Saw and Keith paid really great attention to our preferences during breakfast, happy hour, etc. They all were so kind and thoughtful the whole time. Also Karim, Chris, Kopiha and Janeth were really nice. During the 7 days we had really nice talks, got great recommendations and helpful tips for our stay in Dubai. We had asked for late check out and the team made it possible as well, we were really happy about this, as we had a late night flight back home. The team even prepared a little birthday party for my sister, that was the cherry on the pie. Thank you so much!||Also Himal from housekeeping did a great job, he respected our privacy, time and needs. He even found the tiny earring plug that my mother had lost in the room.||Daniel from dunes cafe was also very attentive and kind, paid attention with his full team. We were really happy.||The hotel, specially the horizon staff met our needs perfectly and we will definitely come back, but only with horizon access, which I will recommend to everyone.||Thanks for everything and see you soon again!

We stayed at the Shangri-La Dubai for four nights in April. The hotel is located Downtown on Sheikh Zayed Road within walking distance of the Financial Centre Metro station (one station to Dubai Mall/ Burj Khalifa). From DXB we took a taxi to the hotel which took around 20 minutes at the cost of AED 60. Next to the hotel is also a taxi rank which was usually well filled whenever we required a ride. ||Check-in was efficient and we quickly were on our way to the 33 floor for our "Burj View" room. The room was of very decent size with a large reception area, ample wardrobe space, and a good sized working desk. The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom had also a good size featuring both shower and bathtub. The cleanliness of the room was good with the exception of some staining on the carpet near the bed which is probably also a function of the age of the hotel. In that sense the room interior also feels a bit dated. Having said this, as the hotel choose quality items in the first place the age of the furniture does not really show. A big plus has also been the air-conditioning system - quiet, stable and consistent. ||We overall enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The location is very convenient, staff is very friendly and service oriented. Overall I would give the property a 4.5 star rating.
