Samrat Hotel

Check in at midnight, with family in two rooms, only to realise that there is no water. Called few times and visited the reception twice, only to hear the excuse of 10 minutes more, until 3 am. Came to the hotel after checking availability. The staff could have sincerely told us that they have issues with water supply, could have gone elsewhere.

I would give only 3 star because of the size of property. I got twin bed room but believe me bathroom fittings are rusted and too old. Interior was ok not that bad...if you are visiting for US visa then it's good one else check for other rooms in the same hotel but don't go with standard. They might be having other room when I requested but they didn't gave me. I would say...3-4k it's ok but not worth to 6k+ charges.

This is an ITDC hotel, the same as The Ashok, situated in the heart of Delhi at Chanakyapuri. The most impressive is perhaps the Lobby of this property. It is spacious and not crowded with sofas. The room I was allotted was in itself quite good and spacious. The bed was comfortable and the area quiet. It had enough lights and enough charging points distributed around the room. The Wifi was good. There is a minifridge in the room. The toiletries provided are rather basic. Though the toilet is reasonably well -equipped the tap handles and other fittings are not properly cleaned and maintained. This is somewhat unfortunate. However, what was the real shocker is that the hotel has no restaurant and provides just room service for lunch and dinner. Strangely, a reasonable breakfast is served in a restaurant which, I suppose, does not function at other times. Much work is needed to raise this place to a level worthy of its location.

The tourism corporation board owns this hotel. As any govt property we know, this story is also the same. Pathetic stay. Worn, torn up and hole bed sheets, age old taps and other plumbing equipment, damaged wooden flooring, damaged luggage racks, malfunctioned bathroom door lock, dusty and insects wardrobe. Horrible is also not enough after charging 10k per night. The corridor in the hotel gives us a sign of scary house. Beware, better don't stay here and waste your hard earned money like me.

Hotel feels quite old and need some maintenance. The rooms are manageable and provide a acceptable stay. The staff, have a bit of a stiff, "government office" attitude. The food is ok ok, although menu in the breakfast buffet is very limited. You can't visit the restaurant during dinner times; all dining is room service only. The location of the hotel is at a perfect place and in the proximity of all useful places.

It was big old hotel. Atmosphere is good I love it... Problem is people working there I Are judgemental while scanning they will get to know we have camera so they will ask many questions... Later they will get to know we are photographer. Then that other treatments start... I didn't understand what's difference... They didn't gave discount because we are photographer . Or what difference it makes to security the tarrif is same right...

The rooms have centralized AC, which allows you to set the temperature, but unfortunately, there are constant fluctuations. Sometimes it gets too hot, and other times too cold, regardless of the set temperature. It disturbed my sleep--I woke up at 2 AM because it was too hot. There was no remote, so I had to get out of bed to adjust the temperature. After that, it became too cold, and although I managed to fall asleep again, I woke up at 4:30 AM because it had become warm once again. I came here to relax, but the inconsistent temperature control has been a bit disturbing. Other than that, the hotel staff and overall service have been good.

This hotel seems that it has not been renovated for several decades. Furniture, floor, bed most of them are old. And there was a musty smell in the room.|AlsoI I had an unexpected water outage twice, and when it came out again, rusty water came out, so I couldn't wash and sleep until late at night. And bathtubs didn't drain well, so the water reached my ankles. |It was a terrible experience for me. |
