We had booked two rooms in November 2024, through Booking.com where the photos shown were nice to look at. Hotel South Indian is situated at a very busy road where the traffic hardly moves. It was very noisy and not a clean area. We missed the hotel the first time and had to turn round. It is difficult to see that this is a hotel as there is no much frontage to the hotel. Seems to be hidden. Looks more like a minicab office. It has narrow entrance. The waiting room is very old, narrow and grubby looking. Narrow passageway led towards the lift and rooms. We were tired having arrived at the hotel after 11pm and did not take in the state of the hotel till we went into our rooms. The first thing you notice is the smell of urine. This was in both rooms. Rooms had bare minimum furniture which had seen better days. As did the bed. Shock and horror! We could not spend the night there. We decided to ask for a refund. We had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to come and sort this out. They said as we had already checked in we have to pay 25%. We just wanted to get out of there quick and paid the 25% in cash. An experience we would want to forget.

Arrived late at night, around 11pm. The hotel is situated in one of the busiest parts of Delhi. There is so much traffic that cars hardly move. One would find it difficult to cross the road on foot. There is a small entrance to the hotel, we missed it first. It just did not look like a hotel. Once inside, you are in a narrow hallway. Could not be more than 6/7 foot wide. One might be mistaken that you are in the waiting room of a taxi/cab booking office back in London. Passed the check-in there is a 3 foot wide entrance towards the lifts.|We had rented two rooms. Made a big mistake of not looking over the rooms before checking in. Once inside the room, we could not believe how cheap the furnishing was. Doorless cupboard, horrible bed lets not talk about the bathroom. It smelled. Whole place smelled of urine. My daughter and her partner who had the other room, walked out of the hotel. We could not think of spending the night there. Decided to cancel the booking. After 20 minutes of talking with staff, we ended up paying 25% of the booking fee. |I don't know the people who have been giving positive reviews to this hotel. I do not know what a one star hotel would look like. I think this one might just make it. Please do not make the mistake we made. Book a hotel that is part of a chain of hotels with a good reputation.
This place is absolutely disgusting. We booked here through Booking.com who seems to not verify the hotels they do business with. The reviews are fake. No one can say the food was good or the rooms are clean. They moved us to 3 different rooms. All had dirty floors non working bathrooms, no water pressure in the shower. Unsafe place hotel. Don't even think of refund or courteous people at this hotel. Stay away.
I had booked a stay at Hotel Dakha International through the Yatra website for 3150 per night. However, when I arrived, they gave some vague excuse about water issues and being fully booked. They directed me to another property nearby, called Hotel South Indian Heritage--and let me tell you, it was a complete nightmare. The room was filthy, with dust and dirt everywhere. I couldn't even think of using the blanket, pillow, remotes, cupboards, or switches--they were that dirty. The washroom was the worst part. It was full of stains, and the floor, commode, and toilet area were absolutely disgusting. I couldn't even step in properly, let alone use it. I ended up going to a faraway hotel just to have breakfast and use the washroom there. This experience was a total waste of money. It seems like the cleaning staff are not doing their job properly, and shockingly, they were even sitting at the reception desk. Just to check, I tried scrubbing a stain in the washroom with my chappal and some water--it came off easily. This proves they aren't even bothering to clean properly. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place--it's not worth the money or the hassle.
Hotel south indian Karol Bagh Very nice staff very good and Sarvise very good food Your All rooms niten clean
I paid 2500 rupees a night and received a room which was quite dirty and a bathroom with many drain flies. I also got some laundry done and was stung with a 1600 rupee bill for only a dozen items or so. In my opinion there are much better value places available in Delhi.
I had a wonderful experience at [SOUTH INDIAN] Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped the location was excellent, making it easy to explore nearby It was a fantastic stay, and I would recommend [SOUTH INDIAN] to anyone looking for a great place to stay....
