The hotel service is very good, the coffeeshop and hotel also great. All the staff is very helpful and friendly. Location wise near to all the cool cafe and restos. When we came is ramadan season so bandung not too crowd the weather is very nice. So all in all we are very happy. Keep it up. Thank you!
Very nice place in a neighborhood I enjoyed exploring. Metro is a few blocks away which is nice because it was convenient without being in crowds. The food is good and most staff were friendly. I enjoyed having coffee in the lobby and hanging out with the staff. Very nice time! PS there are great little places to eat and a cute little curbside Chinese place around the corner. There is a cool temple around another corner and within 5 blocked there is a huge market with great things for sale!
Stayed here with husband and parents for ~10 days. I can't comment on the rates since we had a discount, but overall it seemed fair value for money. The rooms range from small to big; ours had space for a desk and a small glass table. Beds were pretty comfortable and had mattresses & comforters- some Delhi hotels have hard beds and blankets, which I really don't like. Service was friendly. AC, hot water, wi-fi are all included and worked efficiently. Room service was efficient as well and all food items good- though be sure to spell out order very carefully as they can get the order wrong on occasion. The location is Karol Bagh and not very glamorous at all - rubble right outside the hotel doors, however, it is ~10 minutes from the Rajendra Place metro (Pusa Road) and also from Ajmal Khan Road, the hub of the KB market. You can contract a car/driver from the hotel if you want to travel further distances. Overall, good value for money if you want a safe and inexpensive base to explore Delhi from.
We decided to stay at Hotel Cartel Palace because of it's close proximity to Karol Bagh as one of our main reasons for visitng Delhi was wedding shopping. The location is great - it's a short 5-7 minute walk to Ajmal Khan Road and also the lovely Alpha Gardens restaurant where we had dinner most nights (great food and reasonably priced). We had no issues with the rooms themselves, apart from the fact that the key cards are absolutely useless and you have to keep going up and down the stairs to reception every time you want to access your room. The rooms and bathroom are clean and we (appeared) to have unlimited hot water. This is a big deal when staying in hotels in India as some hotels cut out after 5 minutes in the shower! But the service at Hotel Cartel is absolutely shocking. Customer service is non-exsistent. They have about 10 different "managers" who have no idea what's what. We didn't rely on these guys to do anything for us - we booked all our tours and couriers and travel by ourselves just by talking to taxi drivers on the street and locals and the lovely people in the various different saree shops where we did our shopping. It says buffet breakfast but really, their breakfast consists of cold tawa-fried white bread and cold fried eggs (they do not appear to have a kitchen in the hotel itself so all the food comes from outside) with the most disgusting chai (tea) to be had in all of India. We gave up after a couple of days and found a few nice places to eat near the market area. The simplest things like ordering a bottle of Coke or asking for a heater takes about 1.5 days to action. All in all, it's okay if you're just sleeping there for one or two nights but if you're staying for a week like we did then I would definitely not recommend. It was our first time in Delhi and I would find somewhere else next time.
We can definitely not recommend this hotel! It is not like the pictures!! The hotel rooms are really dirty. The wall, the sheets, the telephone - everything is absolutely disgusting. Our sheets had big stains on it and the towel smelled bad. The first room we checked into had at least 20 cockroaches - including one on our pillow. When we asked the reception to do something about it, they sprayed with some terrible toxic spray in the whole room. It was impossible to breath in there! We moved to another room, which was still dirty, but had fewer cockroaches. We would have changed hotel if it wasn't over midnight. The manager was actually nice and seemed helpful, but the stay was absolutely a nightmare and we checked out very early the next morning. Don't go there!
Okay let me say right from the start that this place is cheap - and we didn't expect much as it was cheap! We are happy to stay in cheap hotels! Indeed we are happy to stay in cheap indian style hotels! And did so during our two week stay in India. But this place is the pits!!!||||Our criteria is that we want it to be relatively clean, have air conditioning and running water. We did get some sort of a/c but that was it. We arrived at midnight after travelling from Jaipur by train and finding this place to begin with was a nightmare - the taxi driver had no idea and had to keep going into various hotels in the area to find out where this place was.||||We had booked two rooms - one for my husband and I and one for our son. After our long day of travelling all we wanted was a hot shower and a clean bed. Forget both!!! Neither room had a shower that worked nor any hot water at all. There was no running water at all in either room so we couldn't even have a cold splash off - my husband ended up down in the street getting a hose shower from some guy cleaning the footpath!||||On complaining that neither room had any running water, we were told the hotel was fully booked and sorry, perhaps in the morning we could move to a larger room with water. My son and I were only staying one night before returning to Mumbai for our flight home, but my husband was going to stay on for an extra two nights - operative word being "was".||||So now shower - climb into bed and the bed sheets aren't fresh - I was almost in tears by this stage and so tired and miserable. What a crappy way to end what had been a really good holiday. Again let me say - we know it was cheap - but this place was not habitable and in all honesty Trip Advisor should remove it from it's listings.||||Now we had chosen this hotel based on reviews we had read - and anyone who can rate this place anything above one star is either not very well travelled or a friend of the management. I swear that all the good reviews on here are set up by the management of this hotel - it's easy enough to get your friends to write a good review. Do not believe the good reviews - this place is the pits!||||To top it all off when we spoke to the supposed owner the next morning he was trying to convince us to move to another one of his hotels - we did finally get a room that had running water - still cold - that next morning but all we did was shower and get out. The funny thing is that they were trying to convince my husband to stay at another hotel for the next two nights and then book all his further business travel with them (to Amritsar). They had to be kidding. We ended up using the "driver" they provided us with to take my son and I to the airport for our Mumbai flight - he was then supposed to take my husband to their "travel office" but he ended up paying the driver at the airport and moved to a delightful Lemon Tree for his next few nights.||||Sorry but this hotel is THE worst I have ever stayed at in all my travels and should be avoided like the plague!
Ok i stayed in worst places than this, but i don't need a great tv screen if i don't have a shower working but only a bucket with water! basic hotel like a cheap hostel , food is ok, don't waste your time with the guy that picks you up to bring you in one of the fake turist office (THERE IS A REAL ONE where teh hop on hop off bus departs check google, ho ho service),|||| and ... karol bagh is schocking at night if this is the fisrt time you' re in delhi i'll recommend less central areas of delhi to stay in....
