Extremely Disappointing Experience - Overpriced and Substandard Facilities Review: I had one of the worst experiences staying at [Vijay Hotel / Vijay Niketan / Nalanda Heritage]. The stay was utterly unsatisfactory, and I feel completely cheated by their pricing and lack of service. Here's a detailed account of the issues I faced: 1. Overpriced Stay: The online booking price showed 889 per night, but upon reaching the property, I was charged an outrageous 2,500 to 4,000 per night. The facilities provided do not justify even a fraction of this amount. The quality of the stay was comparable to a 500 lodge. 2. Exorbitant Service Charges: In-house services and amenities were priced at a premium with nearly 200% markup. This is an outright exploitation of guests. 3. No Basic Amenities: Upon arrival, there was no water supply provided. Guests were forced to purchase water bottles at inflated prices. For a hotel charging such high rates, this is unacceptable. 4. Poor Accessibility: After 10 PM, the lift service was completely shut down. When I raised concerns about emergencies, the staff's response was simply to "use the stairs." Such negligence in ensuring guest safety is appalling. 5. Unhygienic Surroundings: The location of the property is terrible, surrounded by waste from chicken and mutton shops, which makes the area reek. The stench seeps into the property, making it uncomfortable to stay. Entering and exiting the property is inconvenient and unpleasant. 6. Lack of Maintenance: The rooms and facilities were poorly maintained, with a foul odor lingering throughout the property. 7. Misleading Online Information: The online listing completely misrepresented the reality of the hotel. Guests are lured in with false pricing and images that do not match the on-ground experience. This property is nothing but a scam--overpriced, unhygienic, and mismanaged. I strongly advise potential visitors to avoid staying here. If the management is serious about guest satisfaction, they must take immediate action to improve their services and pricing transparency.

Rajgir is a very nice place but this hotel is not money worth it the rooms are very dirty there is no dust bin the washrooms are very very dirty and stinky . Not recommended at all. Not as good as shown in pictures

Situated in Bangali para Rajgir just 700 meter from the busstand. Economical room fitted with geyser but not so well maintained. Food is available at restaurant but little bit costly as per quality. Super deluxe rooms are good with balcony. Booked 4 standard tripple rooms @ 1000. Better to dine at Royal cafe just 100 meter away with tasty food at a reasonable price.Lift is in working condition.

Pathetic service. No room service at all. Bathroom doors in bad condition. Flush not working in some rooms. Very poor maintenance. Very bad experience

Very neglected hotel, all in bad shape. Showers, fans not working in many rooms, sheets not too clean, no mosquito nets in window. I preferred to leave the first evening, have lost the money and switched to Bengali Buddhist Association guest house - some 10 min walking distance down the same road, left hand side. Even more simpler place (no TV), but very clean, spiritual, a bit rustic style. So much better!

Worst Rooms. Smelly and dirty toilets. They are the worst hotel. No cleaning, no mosquito liquids. Stained and smelly bed sheets with unclean room and corridor. Narrow minded people. Damaged and highly neglected property. If you can try to book somewhere else. PLEASE BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE

worst hotel I have ever visited in my entire life. i will strongly recommend not to stay . very bad room and hotel service food was very bad. a tap was already broken and still they took charge about the tap from us they took . most of the this where broken worst food . overall very bad

Worst hotel on our whole trip. We didn't expect western standards but this hotel doesn't even deserve 1 star. Dirty, stained and smelly bedsheets and pillow cases. Blanket greasy and dirty. No hot water. We had to ask for basics like towels, a garbage can and toilet paper. The only good thing about this hotel is the staff: very friendly and helpful but that doesn't make up for the horrible rooms unfortunately
