Shangrila Stay Bodhgaya

My friend and I only went for 2 nights but wished we stayed longer! Santosh and his family took really good care of us from answering questions ahead of time to finding us a guide last minute when our original guide cancelled to sending fruit and refreshments to our room and giving us local recommendations and even suggestions for our travels onward. The hotel was extremely clean and had all the necessities and even a beautiful rooftop to watch the sun rise and set. If I am ever in Bhodgaya again I won't hesitate to go back or recommend to friends and family. Santosh might be one of the kindest humans I've met in India. Thank you for everything!

The owner was by far the most welcoming and accommodating in all my travels. Very polite and eager to serve even at odd hours. Had a very pleasant and peaceful stay. The rooms were very clean the roof is also open for guests. They have a cute dog Jimmy. The location is great . You can even take a stroll to mahabodhi temple. Local transportation is easily available . Outside food is allowed. Great WiFi. Again the owner even arranged for transportation to railway station at 3 am. Would highly recommend. Would definitely revisit hopefully.

It is a little bit hidden so taxi drivers might not easily find it but it's absolute worth staying there. The room was nice and spacious with a small balcony and it was light and clean and comparably quiet. If you have the chance to get a home cooked dinner, take it, it's delicious. Staying at the roof top with other guests and the owner feels a little like family.

My time at Shangrila Stay Bodhgaya was exceptional - the rooms were very spacious and clean, with a very comfortable bed with both AC and a fan. The neighbourhood was also quiet, allowing me to get peaceful sleep! There were many e-Rickshaws on the nearby road, allowing me get to the Mahavihara in 5 minutes every morning, which was very convenient.||Santosh is an incredibly caring host, telling me the best spots to eat at and taking me on his motorbike to buy souvenirs, and even helped me pick out a wedding gift! Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. I would love to have the pleasure of staying with him again.

THE hotel to stay in Bodhgaya!||Trustworthy, highly helpful for any question to solve, the guest Santosh is welcoming people as if it was his family. Staff is very professional, rooms are extremely clean, and the service is outstanding and reliable. We spent 4 nights, the location near the main spots is quiet and comfortable.

Enjoyed my stay in a homely atmosphere, really nice room : spacious, modern (renovated as well I was told), clean and comfortable (bed and everything) , with nice balcony that offers some horizon.. Every morning they suggested me coffee ( Lucy remembered my preference:), and every evening when I came back: tea. the bit of a distance from the center is an advantage in my opinion as it is quiet and relaxing. Mostly recommended!

We had a wonderful time at Shangrila Stay while visiting Bodh Gaya. The stay is located in the outskirts of Bodh Gaya with several Buddhist monasteries nearby. The high standard and the cleanliness of the rooms must be pointed out and likewise the heartfelt friendliness of the host and staff. There was even a scooter available for longer trips in the local area. We had such a good experience of staying there for 8 days and it is definitely a place worth coming back to. The breakfast on the roof terrace was also excellent and our personal wishes was happily accommodated. It is worth mentioning that the wifi was excellent. We were there at the marriage season so occasional loud music was playing in the area in the evening, but this is same condition for all stays in the area and nothing to blame the host for. I give top characters for the place and the entire experience of staying there.

I recently stayed at this lovely homestay and had a wonderful experience overall. The property was well-maintained, cozy, and offered a perfect blend of comfort and local charm. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the ambiance was very peaceful--ideal for a relaxing getaway. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, going out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed during our stay. They were always available to offer advice and made us feel right at home. However, one small issue arose due to the timing of our visit. Since our stay coincided with the Holi festival, there was a shortage of food options, as many local shops and restaurants were closed for the holiday. While this wasn't the homestay's fault, it did impact our experience a bit as we had limited choices for meals. Despite this, everything else was great, and the hospitality provided by the owner truly made up for the food situation. I would definitely recommend this homestay for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with warm and attentive service!
