Hotel Grand Royal

This is a better hotel for staying with peace. Here the enterior environment is quiet and about soundless. Rooms are neat and clean. Rooms are facilitated by many means and with modern equipped, that are parallel to international level. All staffs through reception to service crews are skilled, helpful and amiable to guests. So their activities are so guest-friendly. It's location is at prime position of Mirpur road near by Elephant road, Dhaka City.

Rooms : There was a bit problem in lock system. We won't face any problem to lock it but the problem starts when we tried to unlock it. 4.8 out of 5 Stuff behavior is good enough as well as the manager. I don't know anything about breakfast because I had to go out before 8 AM & the breakfast is available during 8-10 AM. The photo below is the dinner & it's menu-01. There was Drinks and water btw it's me who forgot to include that in photo. Overall the whole experience was a good. And the hotel rooms are exactly (more or less) looks like the same as the photos available on Google Map.

I'm from India and stayed there overnight. I enjoyed the room and the environment in Dhanmondi. Really a great price i paid over there. And complimentary breakfast they provide. 100% recommended. I rate 10 on 10.

The review from me is as follows: ||One of the worst hotels I have ever been to. problems I have found as follows: ||At the very beginning the front desk tried to treat me with tricks just to upscale the rent telling all other rooms are booked except this only one, but when I refused and told I will walk in to any other hotel, he gave me the available other room. ||1. The receptionist is not formal and curious in terms of hotel management. He needs to learn a lot handling and treating customers to make them return as regular and frequent customers. ||2. The breakfast has ruined the theme of the buffet breakfast. Menus are too little and the food is not tasty at all. Hotels with similar budget in Dhaka provide a lot of variations in breakfast with salad, dessert and fruits. Examples are Grand Prince Hotel and Shuktara Hotel. ||3. Room service handed over me the aerosol spray using the left hand but received it back through the right hand. ||4. We were a bit late to check out as I knew there was no pressure of guests. This hotel has a total of 15 rooms and only 5 rooms were booked with 15 guests. But the front desk started to call me repeatedly from 11.50 am urging me to check out very quickly as the check out time is 12 pm. I checked out by 12.30 pm. But the behaviour of the front desk was always mannerless behaving like he is the owner of this property and used to behave as per his will. ||I won't be a guest to this property again and suggest others not to book or stay in this hotel.

The room was clean but no sound proofing so can hear noises of people talking, walking and noise of the lift and things being moved around. The receptionist and manager were not accommodating. In the late evening they forced me to change room saying it was for my safety and did not listen when I said I wanted to stay in my current room. Threatening me that I have to change or leave. I would not stay here again.

Horrible experience: When I wanted to leave at 6:30am I realized that they turned off the elevator and locked the door to the stairhouse. So I was literally locked in, like in a prison. I tried to call the reception, nobody answered. Apart from being extremely unsafe in case of a fire I just don't feel comfortable being locked in, this is an absolute No-Go! Other than that I can say that the price I paid (~4200 per night) was way too high for this hotel. Bed was comfortable, guy at the reception friendly but that's it, other than that it's quite basic.
