The Sankara Resort & Spa by Pramana

Before arriving at our destinationt, we wasn't sure what to expect.....what a surprise walking through the hotel reception into the tranquil of paradise. Beautiful surroundings.... Jungle paradise, Our villa Karna was beautiful, private garden, tropical paradise, huge pool with an indoor/outdoor bathroom. A variety of good quality food choices. All staff are courteous and friendly. Would recommend.

The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff are so attentive and can't do enough for you. The pool is very welcoming and a great place to relax after a hard day. The food is amazing, we had a snack on our 1st day and they had a black moon dinner on the second night with entertainment which was great value. We had breakfast every morning and there is plenty of choice. |This is an amazing hotel and great staff and definitely recommend a stay here if you visit Bali.

The staff was absolutely amazing! They were represtenative of Bali culture, accomdating and kind! The resort style room, canopy bed, private pooled balcony, lush vegitation and flowers on the grounds made us feel like we were truly on a tropical Island. The staff was very attentitive. Always sweeping and tidying, shows the pride they take in their facility. Lots of privacy and so relaxing. We had delicious room service breakfast every morning. Exploring different foods on the menu was fun. They had a Bali cultural dan e show and bbq one day while there. That was interesting.The pool bar was nice (though alcoholic beverages were weak :), still a nice vibe... with great picture opps!

A little piece of heaven in the middle of Bali.|Wow... What an amazing place.|From the check-in to check-out Sankara blew us away.|We chose the "Sweet Escape" package which was worth every penny.|This package included a candle light dinner which we chose to have in our suite (One Bedroom Pool Villa). Well let me tell you, this was amazing. The staff decorated our outside patio with flowers, overhead lights, poolside candles... Wow, amazing.|The food at the restaurant was spectacular. A huge menu was provided and every dish we tried was brilliant. The chef must be a master of sauces. Yum.|Thank you to all the staff for making our trip so memorable. We will definitely tell everyone to go to Sankara Resort in Ubud.

Stayed for 5 nights in the Deluxe Pool Villa. The positives were the gardens, the private pool , the friendly staff and the breakfasts. The positives ended there.||1. Unfortunately there is a huge construction site next door. Jackhammers and saws and hammering from 8am-5pm.|2. Staff ride their motorcycles to and from work directly behind villas. Noise until 11pm then from 6am when the staff arrive again.|3. Rock hard beds (I like a hard mattress but OMG)|4. No running water on 3 occasions and no hot water on 2 occasions|5. Sink blocked. Told front desk but never fixed|6. No yoga teacher. Despite her having a broken leg as of last month they still haven't found 1 single replacement- really?? Offering a walk instead which I enjoyed.|7. Thin, old towels|8. Deceptive description and video on website- shows aerial views of jungle and rice fields. Nothing like this. Resort is in an area with construction, sports centre, paddle ball courts and empty land with some rubbish and rubble. I actually thought I'd be surrounded by jungle, rice fields and serenity based on their description.||Sankara Resort is unfortunately anything but this. On the night of our arrival the staff were having a party with a DJ that went on until 10.15pm. I mean pumping, loud, dance music with a screaming DJ. ||We asked for a flexible check out due to being so disrupted by all the noise and water issues and the staff obliged which was very helpful.||Overall a little disappointing and nothing like I had envisaged.

Looking for a place to stay in Ubud?|Our stay at Sankara was truly the best experience we've had. It's a tropical, tranquil resort where the staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel genuinely welcomed. The whole vibe gave off major White Lotus energy!|Our room was stunning, with a gorgeous view overlooking the rice fields -- it felt like we had our own private backyard in paradise.|They also offer a complimentary breakfast, which was delicious -- not your typical American spread, but an authentic taste of Bali.|We would definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed at The Sankara Resort in Ubud for five nights in a Deluxe Room, and it was a fantastic experience. While the hotel may not be the newest, it has the authentic charm of an Ubud retreat, with beautiful gardens, a lovely pool, and well-maintained rooms that are quite spacious--especially compared to newer hotels. The facilities were great, with the added bonus of complimentary morning yoga classes (though no gym on-site). The a la carte breakfast was included in the rate and offered a wide range of options, from continental to Indian and Indonesian dishes, which was a nice touch. The location was ideal for those wanting a peaceful stay while still being close to central Ubud. It's about a 25-minute walk or a short Grab ride to the main area, and there are also other dining options nearby. The highlight of my stay was definitely the staff. Their warmth and friendliness showcased true Balinese hospitality, always eager to help and ensure a great experience. Overall, The Sankara Resort offers great value for money, and I highly recommend it for a relaxing Ubud getaway.

Sankara Resort was everything we hoped for and more! The setting is beautiful, peaceful, and feels like a true hidden gem in Ubud. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our 5-night stay. Our room was spotless every day, and the pool and restaurant were fantastic. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Bali!
