Komaneka at Tanggayuda

We loved our experience in Ubud and at this lovely hotel. Our room was fabulous. All the modern features while still maintaining a Balinese feel. The staff were really good and their assistance with booking restaurants and activities was next level. The food however was fine, nothing bad but nothing to write home about either.

Such an amazing place from the staff, views, facilities and meals. Everything was perfect! The moment you arrive you are greeted with the best customer service and hospitality. Once in the room you are explained everything you need to know. Any questions later you can call the lobby and your problem will be solved instantly. We had the valley view villa with private pool. It was pure luxury. Could have honestly moved in!! There are insects however you expect that in Bali. It is nothing to be concerned with, apply repellent if required. If you are planning any activity and have questions the staff will assist. They assisted my wife and I in translating and speaking with external facilities to ensure we were not being taken advantage of. The restaurant was amazing as well. Prices are great and the staff (as always) were amazing. We loved our time in Ubud. Purely because of the location and staff. 100% recommend!!

This was the perfect place for us to end our Indonesia trip. If I could give 6 stars to the staff I would. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. One could chose from western/european style breakfast or Asian style. Both of us had happy stomachs. Our private pool was great for cooling off after a morning workout or when returning from a trip to town. We also booked a cycle tour for one morning and had the best guide. Ask for Kantu! I can't say enough about the wonderful staff. They made a lovely location beyond wonderful. Our massage was also outstanding. Did I mention the staff? I give them a 6!!! Don't miss afternoon tea. Delightful treats change daily.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was spotlessly clean, the view was absolutely breathtaking, and the service from the entire team was top-notch--very professional and genuinely welcoming. It truly made me feel at home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great stay. A special thanks to the staff for the thoughtful gift they left for me--it was such a sweet surprise and made my stay even more memorable!

For a property marketed as a 5-star premium hotel, this was disappointing and did not meet basic luxury standards. Service & Staff Interaction: Staff communication often felt intrusive and overly inquisitive rather than warm or professional. Instead of light, friendly conversation ("Are you headed somewhere fun?"), questions came across as abrupt ("Where are you going? Why?"). Staff generally seemed unable to think outside the box or offer alternative solutions if something was not "in their manual" -- for example, assistance with booking a taxi was met with dismissiveness rather than proactive help, which should be a basic service at any high-end property. Overall, there is a need for better training in courtesy, tone, empathy, and flexibility to match the premium image the hotel promotes. Breakfast Experience: Breakfast options were limited, the presentation was poor, and the overall flavor was underwhelming. Service during breakfast felt rushed, as if guests were being encouraged to leave quickly. Examples: Staff phrased things bluntly ("You don't want more drinks, ok?") instead of offering polite service. When asking for an iced chocolate, the immediate response was simply "No," with no further explanation or alternatives offered. Additionally, the cutlery and glasses used in the restaurant felt far from premium -- several pieces were chipped or worn, creating a careless impression not fitting a 5-star experience. Overall, the breakfast and restaurant service lacked the refinement and attention to detail expected at a luxury resort. Shuttle Service: The shuttle to Ubud runs only every two hours, which is inconvenient given the remote location. A more flexible or on-demand option would be expected from a property positioned and priced at this level. --- What Was Positive: Secluded Location: The resort offers privacy and serenity, surrounded by natural beauty, ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat. Pool Facilities: Pools are well-designed and maintained (though one was under construction during the stay). Poolside service was friendly and better aligned with luxury standards. Room Layout: Rooms are spacious, clean, and neatly presented. A good level of comfort once the bug issue is set aside. --- Final Impression: While Komaneka at Tanggayuda offers a beautiful, peaceful setting, the overall experience falls noticeably short of the premium price point and 5-star expectations. Service quality, flexibility, and attention to small but crucial details were consistently lacking, which ultimately made the experience feel more ordinary than exceptional. Sadly, I would not recommend it to travelers seeking a truly polished and luxury stay in Ubud. I would recommend this hotel to people looking for a relaxed vibe, privacy and nature all around

Our honeymoon at Komaneka in Ubud was truly unforgettable. Nestled in the heart of a peaceful village, the resort is surrounded by breathtaking greenery and the calming sounds of nature. Waking up to the view of lush trees and hearing the birds each morning made every moment feel like a dream. What made our stay even more special was the kindness of the entire team. They greeted us with warm smiles every time they saw us, making us feel not like guests, but like family. We were especially touched by the thoughtful gift they gave us to remember our stay -- such a heartfelt gesture. Our stay went beyond our expectations. The atmosphere was relaxed and serene, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Best of all were the people who went out of their way to make sure we had the very best stay. The staff were kind and genuine. We felt sad having to leave. I wishI could give them 11 stars. When we return to Bali we know where to stay.
