GIBBON ECO CAMP

It's a shame I have to write this as the family was lovely but they tried to cheat me with costs. I trusted to go through them for the entire service (guide and accommodation) but was let down. I didn't negotiate any costs because I hoped the services would live up to it. I was quoted 500rs for a 2 hour walk (just for guide - not inc. entry and camera) which they tried to end after 1 hour 14 mins but I made sure we carried on. I then was asked to pay the gunman which was an unofficial cost. Returned to the Homestay and when I received my bill I was quoted 300rs for the gunman, despite me originally declining. On top of this they tried to charge me 500rs for pickup from Mariani station although they never actually mentioned its chargeable when I requested if they could pick me up, they just offered. And it's only a 10 minute drive so regardless, 500rs is way too much. They also tried charging me for a water bottle I never received (I also never got given a towel in the room). There is no wifi and poor phone connection. As a tourist accommodation, I really felt let down. Also no apology when I caught them out on these costs. It's not worth the price they charge but if it weren't for the hidden prices they tried scamming me for I would let it go and not leave this review, but I want other foreigners to be aware. I would recommend staying in Mariani town and getting transport to and from your hotel from the sanctuary walk, and get a guide On-site.

5 minutes walk to the forest office. Perfect location. The family are so long and the food is great. The room is really comfortable and clean overlooking a lovely pond and trees. It's lovely to be able to walk in the forest looking for Gibbons but there is lots of other wildlife there too.

Gibbon eco camp is situated in near Forest beat office, which is almost middle of the sanctuary. Campus is perfect example of multiple farming. Tea garden, fishery, vegetable garden, flower garden etc. Room is well furnished and hygienic . Food is very good for all age group. Room Service is fast enough and very friendly staff. Gibbon Eco Camp is truly a gem for anyone visiting the Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary. As the closest and only proper homestay in the sanctuary's periphery, it offers an authentic and intimate experience. Pinak Da, the host, is an absolute delight. His welcoming nature and calm demeanor make the stay incredibly relaxing. Whether it was a quiet morning chat or a discussion about the area, he's the perfect companion to unwind with. Bow deserves special mention for her simple yet delicious meals. The dinner and breakfast she cooked was homely and full of flavor, making us feel well taken care of. Pranjal, our guide, brought a burst of energy to the trip. His enthusiasm and knowledge about the sanctuary made the experience unforgettable. Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary itself is a hidden treasure. Despite being underrated, it offers an unmatched opportunity to connect with nature and spot unique wildlife. Staying at Gibbon Eco Camp was the perfect way to explore gibbon and surrounding areas. Highly recommend this homestay for anyone visiting the area!

Just a minute walk distance from gibbon sanctuary entrt gate. Beautiful location, serene environment amidst vast greenery and tea garden. You can hear birds song every time. Eco camp's hospitality is fantastic, food to cleanliness to everything is highly satisfactory. Owners behaviour is awesome they are very very helpful in every inches. Jaynata Sharma ji is just excellent in this arena. Our friend cum guide Bikash barua also helped a lot. Nice guy, charming behaviour helpful. It's a next to heaven. My request to every tourist is to maintain it's serenity and tranquility. Obey rules. Do not expect luxury there. Mind it you are in a sanctuary. Respect local people and forest officials. They are your eyes and ear there. Do not smoke and drink. Do not demand city life there. I'm much worried about kolkata tourists. I'm sorry but true. If you think gibbon is a tourist place or a place to make reels please don't go. I wish Jayanta da and his team and all officials od Gibbon sanctuary a very good luck and prosperity in future. Only five minutes walk into the forest office, the location is perfect. The family are so helpful and kind, they arranged guides, walks on the tea and in the forest and car and driver when we needed it. The food is delicious and rooms comfortable. I definitely recommend this place.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Gibbon Eco Camp, and I was thoroughly impressed. The family was extraordinarily friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. Homemade vegetarian food is available. The homestay's location was perfect for exploring Hollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary. It was within walking distance from there and you have to get up early to see gibbons. Overall, my stay at Gibbon Eco Camp was exceptional. I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone.

My homestay was walking distance to the Hoolangapar gibbon sanctuary, the family made delicious home cooked meals, they were able to get me back to town for my very early train, they arranged a guide ahead of time knowing I was keen to explore, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Very best experience and one of my favorite new places to visit in India will be back!
