Hotel New Park, Solicitors Road, Jorhat

Attended a relative's wedding at Hotel new park and was disappointed with the facilities. The hall was unbearably hot, and the wall fans didn't provide sufficient relief. Considering the hotel's reputation, we expected better amenities, particularly air conditioning. While other aspects were satisfactory, the service didn't justify the cost. Perhaps investing in ACs or improving ventilation would enhance the overall experience

Staff behaviour is quite bad. I have check in last night 12 am and they are saying that check out time was 12 noon without any prior notice. Also they denied to give one room for a couple of minutes whare as I have paid 1680 INR for one night only. As the customer from last three years, could not expect such behaviour. Also the room quality compare to price is not justified.

They charge handsomely, but service is below average. Don't even put hand wash or soap in the bathroom. Most of the time no one at the reception.

Not justified the price they charge. They are very unprofessional. During my stay TV was not in working condition, AC remote was not working, intercom was not working. They don't give one litre complementary water bottle. Only good thing was food quality and quantity.... excellent.

Starting with a positive note, the staff is very polite, hence that one star. But the hotel is very poorly managed. Starting with the first room that we were allotted, the tap in the bathroom does not work (only the geyser outlet works, so we have only piping hot water to take a shower) and the water keeps on leaking so we had to keep a bucket under it. When asked for toothpaste, we were told that they only provide soap (no other toiletries), the rest we must carry. No kettle to warm water. We requested to change our room as we were unable to take a shower. Now here is where the nightmare starts. We came back to the room to find a cockroach on top of the bed. Calling the room service they came and sprayed HIT all over the room. So the second day we did take a shower but slept with the entire room reeking of HIT and the fear of a cockroach sleeping with us. Unfortunately changing hotels wasn't an option, so we had to stay for the night. Next morning we come to the dining area for our "Complimentary breakfast" with just 3 items to choose from (cornflakes, paratha and Poha). When asked for bread butter or mere eggs, they said we must pay for everything else (we did speak to the manager and later they did provide us). While we were having our breakfast, we met a few more dead cockroaches under our table. For the first time I stayed at a hotel in Jorhat, and I am truly disappointed!!

Rooms are well maintained,clean and spacious enough however the water supply in bathroom is not good enough in terms of quality. It looks muddy. First time i stayed there for a week and room services were excellent. But in my second visit found the services bit slow. Overall is a good hotel located conveniently.

This hotel is a clean, functional hotel, with reasonably good food, but the room service can indeed be very difficult, you have to remind them, they take so long. the quality of the dishes varies widely, some are good but others not so bad. I stayed there twice in the last six months, and would go there again, I feel safe even travelling as a single woman on work.

I would not even give a single star to this horrible hotel as my stay there had been worse than I expected!! (I didn't expect much anyway because of the low rate). The manager is extremely indecent and the staff is poorly equipped. They failed to serve us our breakfast even after we waited for 45 minutes due to which we had to cancel our order as we were running late for an event. The basic amenity like a water bottle was not there in the room and to add to the horror ,there were no phone numbers given on the landline phone in the room with which we could call the reception or house keeping. The blankets smelt horrible and the most disturbing experience was how the manager behaved with my old parents. I recommend people to avoid staying in this third class hotel to save themselves from a horrible experience.
