Visited a couple of days ago this overrated homestay! My concept of homestay has changed after coming here. The owner, though he was present did not come to meet and greet us during our three days of stay here. Only one aged, old gentleman served inefficiently as a care taker. Instead of spontaneous service we had to ask for toiletries. Inspite of charging for one extra person's stay we had to demand for an extra pillow and proper bed. Food was not cooked here and was bought from somewhere else and at the same time not palatable too. That's why we were 'forced' to manage our food from outside eateries. The bed covers were not hygienic and up-to-date at all. One serious matter I want to mention here is that one lady sweeper used to take the duplicate keys from the owner and in our absence and opened our doors and entered into our rooms only to evacuate the litter bins. She was caught red handed on the last day of our stay. We were also unaware of the service of the free wifi. On the whole we were not satisfied with the service of the homestay. Since there was not any provision of replying to the owner's comments I am highlighting a few points here: 1. As in case of most of the homestays there is a meeting and greeting ceremony when the guests come. I thought at that particular time I would talk about our one extra person. But here there were none like that. Some how the owner came to know this and demanded rupees 300/- per day extra for that extra person. We gladly acknowledged the same. But he is so duty bound that we had to beg ther extra bed, pillow etc for that person. Besides we had to claim for towels and toiletries. We were then provided with dirty 'gamcha'. 2. The very sweeping person revealed herself as a sweeper of the homestay. She was not introduced as a staff by the owner. Hence was there any inappropriateness in calling her a sweeper? 3. The owner and his family members did not meet us during our stay. How could he discover our inappropriate behaviour? 4. He told me that his father in law would prepare food for us. It didn't mean that they hadn't any cooking facility there. Instead he bought food from somewhere else. 5. No-one from there side was there to say goodbye to us except that lady sweeper. It reflects their attitude to their guests and to their home stay business. 6. Reviews are generally wanted to find any flaws in their services and if any to rectify them. But here in this case I wonder whether the owner respects his business!

Extremely overrated and overhyped. Most of the reviews appear to be manipulated or managed. The rooms are of average standard and poorly maintained. The bedsheets and comforters smell stinky. There is literally no 'view' from the homestay as claimed in some of the reviews. The Food served is overpriced and sub standard. Please don't get caried away by the google business reviews. They may be misleading at times. The owner, who sounds very courteous over communications,is requested to engage some efforts in improving on the overall quality.
RECOMMENDED IT !! Definitely worth staying!!! The owner is really polite and nice, we booked all 3 rooms , basically the entire section of the house was ours, and we had full freedom the view from the terrace was really good, it was very airy , and spacey, more than enough bed space , Loved it
Do not believe what the reviews or the happy faces tell you through the pictures. The room quality don't do justice to the room's fare. It's cheap. The services are very substandard. There is no fooding. They will provide food but charge 150 for a veg meal with very bad food. There is no view from the room. If there is, that's only some Tata sky antennas on the roofs of the neighbouring homes. The maintenance is not up to the mark. We went out for sightseeing and when we came back we came to know someone open the lock and went in to clean the room. We were surprised to think if they only cleaned the room or our bags too! We were here for 3 days but didn't even see he owner come and meet once. Now you decide whether to believe the reviews before or not. Or just stay and get an experience yourself.
I recently stayed at Misty Mountains Home Stay in Haflong, Assam, and had a wonderful experience. The location is absolutely stunning, nestled in the serene hills with breathtaking views. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploring. The staff were incredibly hospitable and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The home-cooked meals were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the terrace area, which provided a perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. Overall, Misty Mountains Home Stay is a fantastic choice for homely stay.
Food -good Location - have to walk thru a market and pay for porter. No parking nearby so pay for parking. Room service not up to mark. Rooms r clean but have to climb steep ladder for bathroom. View - have to go upstairs in a steep ladder ,but view is good
Misty Mountains Homestay in Haflong offers a charming stay with stunning morning views of the hills from its rooftop, perfect for starting your day immersed in nature. The rooms are simple yet comfortable, meeting basic needs without frills. Access to the bedrooms is via stairs, which adds a quaint touch but may not be ideal for small children. The washrooms are clean and well-maintained, ensuring a pleasant experience. The real highlight, however, is the warm hospitality of the hosts, who are incredibly helpful and attentive, making guests feel right at home. This homestay is a delightful retreat for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful escape. Conveniently located near Haflong Bazar, the homestay offers easy access to all necessities, making it an ideal retreat for nature lovers seeking both peace and convenience.
The stay was excellent. Mithun babu the owner waited till 2.30 am to find us reach safely from Railway Station to the Home Stay. Indeed a home away from home for the 14 of us from Legal Metrology, Tripura, on a vacation
