Sui Hotel, Guwahati

Small, but very clean room. Room layout is such that air-conditioning takes a long time to have effect. Toilet is fitted with good fixtures, and very clean. Front desk staff polite. Food is delicious, and service staff soft-spoken and polite. Location is in a crowded market area, which provides shopping opportunities. Elevator is beautiful and inviting. UG parking is available.

**Disappointing Experience - Felt Cheated** We had a very disappointing stay at Hotel Sui, Guwahati. We had booked and paid for a specific room, but on arrival, we were given a smaller one. Despite repeatedly informing the reception, the lady at the front desk insisted that all rooms in the hotel were of the same size, which was not true. The booking promised a river-facing view, but in reality, only the restaurant had a partial river view, making it feel like a misleading claim. Later, we realized that the bigger room we had originally booked was indeed available. When we confronted the front office manager, they simply said that the wrong photo was shared during booking and that we would have to pay extra for the correct room. This felt like a clear case of deception. Cleanliness in the room was decent, and the restaurant food was average. However, the dishonesty and poor customer service overshadowed everything. I have been frequenting this hotel but as time passed its quality has become poor. Today, inspite of having a confirmed booking through MMT, they said hotel is fully booked. They eventually gave a room after MMT's intervention. Then, I was looking forward to Ind Vs NZ Champions trophy match but you guessed it...their TV was not working! A story of good property at a good location but bad management!

This hotel is located in the center of the city and manager Peter was really kind and helped me with all my queries since I'm new to the city. The service and the food were really good. 10/10 recommend this place.

We stayed in Sui hotel for a night. We checked in 4 hours later than the allowed checkin time (2pm) and still the room was dirty. The bathroom mat was soiled, there were hair on the floor, spider webs all over the room, dust. 1 towel for 2 guests, 1 pair of room slippers for 2 guests. We asked for change of room. The other room was dirty too. Flower petals on the floor, hair, spider webs, hand towel was slightly wet as if someone had used it. Hair in the bathroom commode, human waste spot on the toilet rim. It was disgusting. Since there were no more free rooms, we asked them to clean it. Even after that, there was dust on furniture, insufficient beverages (teabag, milk powder). What was worse was there were red ants on the mattress. We killed at least 6-7 ants. There were ants near study table as well. Breakfast was good. The restaurant had seating arrangement outside which was again full of dust and had marks food, spilled liquid. Very dirty. The TV had no set top box, no channels, you need to cast from your phone to the TV. They charge a lot for the size of the room, it's a very small room (We had booked elegant double room). Not recommended, will never book here again.

Hotel Sui offers a pleasant experience for a brief stay, with the rooftop restaurant being a standout feature for food. However, the rooms seem basic and may not be ideal for long stays. It's probably a good choice for travelers looking for somewhere comfortable to rest for a night, but not for extended stays where more luxurious or spacious accommodations might be preferred.

If you're planning to visit Guwahati, avoid booking this hotel at all costs. The staff, including the general manager, are highly unprofessional and seem to be running a scam. Here's what happened to us: We were initially quoted a daily rate of 3500 and paid an advance of 1000, which they conveniently "forgot" about. Upon checkout, they charged us 10,500 for our stay. When we reminded them about the advance payment, they didn't acknowledge their mistake but instead increased the room rate to 3800 to cover the difference. Despite several attempts to resolve the issue, they refused to accept responsibility and have been ignoring my calls. This hotel is a complete fraud--untrustworthy and unethical. Save yourself the trouble and book elsewhere!

Out of the all hotel stays I had in my entire span of life, this was the worst. It was clean on a superficial front. Smelly outside with gutter smell. We had booked 4 rooms for 2 nights. The receptionist acted as if she was doing us a favor by alloting the rooms. In 2 rooms the bathroom mat was dirty, bath towels were dirty and stained. The bedsheets were stained as if not changes for days. In one room there were small cockroaches staying free of cost with the guest. The mosquitoes were also accompanying and accomodating us. There were cobwebs in bathroom and on ceiling. In one room the fan was not working and not repaired till we left. Breakfast spread to start at 7.30 was started at 8.00 and was not good. All eatables had too much of salt in it. All this was put forth to the receptionist thinking that it wud be taken care but it was not caring attitude. In turn she asked us when are we checking out. We ordered for a glass of milk. It was not delivered but were asked to pay for it. While checking out because we fought and complained, this receptionist told her people not to pick our luggage. If this lady Priti remains in that post the hotel will surely lose its charm. This hotel is run by individuals with no responsible person supervising. It shud be taken over by some people if they want this hotel to progress or in long run make it into a lodge as services are equivalent to that.
