Hotel Golden Orchid

The rooms, hospitality, food, service all are up to the mark. The people are hospitable enough. Looking into some of the other reviews, we had also found a torn blanket cover given to us, but it did not hamper our stay experience. Spent a memorable few days in this hotel. Thank you.

Rooms are good, I stayed here twice once on 17th April and then on the 22nd April. Staff need grooming, some are untrained, I asked for water, reception asked me to buy... nothing more than 1 litre can be supplied complimentary! Bathrooms are freshly done, good facilities, but poor cleaning, wash bowls have grime on edges and on fitting edges, which means, no training or supervision. Bathroom floors slip, whatever antiseptic or floor cleaner has been used has not been adequately cleaned/ washed away. Room stinks of cigrette smoke when we enter, there must be some way of clearing that, if non smoking guests are alloted smoking rooms. Otherwise great dining experience, though food took an hour to be served at dinner. Breakfast counter did not open at 7.30 am due to rains...

The hotel can be located easily. Parking space is available. Rooms are spacious and well built, but bedsheets and towels are not well washed or maintained. They are stained. Even after asking them to change, they replaced with stained linens. Considering the price of the room its not satisfactory. As we had paid for extra bed charge, we asked only for one extra blanket. However, the management failed to respond promptly. Bedsize are small even though the online sites had described it as king size bed. Complementary toileteries are not provided adequately. Additionally, there was some kind of party on the floor above us, which was continually blaring noisy music, keeping us up. Management staff do not have coordination among them and requires better training. Absolutely horrible management.

Very good service and large rooms. Good breakfast available from 7.45 am. Nearby road has shops, Chai Shai has good tea. Ajanta tea sells tea leaves. The concern for the customer is there. We were a group of 8. Domino's pizza is in the same building.!

However, the room linens, including the bed cover, blanket covers, and pillow covers, appeared quite old and stained. This was disappointing given the deluxe AC room rate. The windows also had noticeable stains, suggesting they hadn't been cleaned properly or frequently. The toiletries provided were lacking; basic items like a toothbrush and toothpaste were available only upon request rather than being readily accessible in the bathroom. Additionally, the bathroom felt a bit damp, though this might not be noticeable to everyone. On the positive side, the breakfast service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which offered a nice variety of tasty items, along with helpful assistance from the staff. The hotel's location is very convenient. It is situated next to a Domino's Pizza outlet, providing easy snacking options within walking distance. Additionally, it is located within 2 km of major hospitals in Dibrugarh, making it an ideal choice for patients or those visiting the city for medical purposes. While we did not order any other food from the hotel restaurant during our stay, a quick review of the menu indicated reasonable pricing and genuine quality. Overall, some areas such as the linens, window cleanliness, and bathroom amenities need improvement. However, the hotel offered a good complimentary breakfast, a convenient location, and seemingly decent value through its restaurant. With a few enhancements to cleanliness and amenities, it could provide an even more enjoyable experience for guests in this price range.

Checked in at 2:30 am after my train was delayed and told the receptionist I didn't have enough cash on hand and would settle the bill at checkout. They insisted I pay upfront, which was frustrating after a long, tiring journey. I was charged 3300, but the TV didn't work, there was no pool, and breakfast was already finished by the time I got there. The staff was rude and unaccommodating. Overall, a very poor experience for the price

I recently stayed at this hotel and was quite impressed with the quality of the rooms and the level of service provided. However, I would recommend that the management consider adding mini refrigerators to their deluxe rooms. In hot weather, a mini refrigerator is a basic necessity that would greatly enhance the comfort and convenience for future guests. Overall, a small addition that could make a significant difference.
