Hotel Basundhara

I stayed at this place for four days for my fieldwork visit. Their hospitality was remarkable. Each of the staffs were cordial and extremely cooperative. The food was also worth a mention. I as a boarder was especially satisfied with the cleanliness of the place and their food. Since I was travelling alone, security was a big concern for me. And there were days when i was staying alone in the hotel with no other boarders but just the employees(mostly male). But honestly all of them made my stay so comfortable and secured that I almost never had to worry about my safety and security. this place is totally recommended for the women who are travelling alone.

Booked an AC Deluxe room for 3 adults (double bed with extra cot) through MakeMyTrip. Although the hotel tariff was economical, the services were absolutely horrible. The food was overpriced and rarely were orders dispatched on time (In fact, one order for three cups of coffee and a plate of veg fritters was delayed by almost an hour). The cook was extremely amiable. However, the rest of the staff were extremely unprofessional (and even demanded cash instead of UPI to save off on GST).

The hotel is in a very quiet and greenery filled location but very far from the railway station almost 1.5 km. For commuting from the station to the hotel we had to pay almost 40 Rs per head each time in toto. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with TV and spaces to keep things. Room service is very responsive. The hotel has a separate restaurant for eating but have to order at least 3 hrs before time otherwise nothing is available on the spot. 24 hrs Hot water is a plus service here. Prices are also very reasonable. We booked through MakeMyTrip app where we chose the preference of higher floors but when we arrived there the reception told us that we have to stay on the ground floor which was a bit awkward for us. They told us if we have contacted them beforehand they could have managed but not on the spot. On total it was a memorable and pleasant stay.

We have recently visited Shantiniketan & we had stayed here. The stay was good. The staff is really very good & I loved the hospitality. Rooms: We had booked two rooms. one standard double bed which was really very good & spacious. The washrooms were also pretty big. Second one was quadrupole room where there were three beds- One king size bed, one queen size bed & one single bed. The room was ok but could have been better. Location: The hotel is around 700 meters from main road & the place looked a bit interior but the good part was that it was very peaceful. Food: Food was really very affordable & also very good in taste. You will need to order the lunch & dinner Atleast three hours before. Parking: There is good parking space available. Around 5-6 cars can easily be parked. To conclude it's a good budget hotel with very good staff.

I would say, one of the best hotels, I have stayed ever in my life. The environment is awesome, foods are just wow, rooms are so great and the services are just as friendly as you can expect. I would like come again here to enjoy my personal space and peace.

Went to Shantiniketan with my friends and stayed at this place. We took two AC rooms, and here's my experience: Pros: 1. Rooms are clean and good to stay in. 2. The AC worked fine. 3. Staff behaviour was good. 4. The place was quiet and had a nice ambience. Cons: 1. Even at this price, water was not complementary. There was no water filter and we had to buy packaged drinking water from them the entire time at market price. 2. The food was quite expensive and of poor quality. Also, the quantity was not enough to fulfill the appetite. 3. During our stay, no room service was provided.

Very bad experience.... At first they allot a room for me and as soon as I was going to check that room it was being given to another person because they made payment first without checking that room... The staff behaviour is also soo poor.. amongst the staff there was a lady whose behaviour is so poor that she was arguing with us keeping no respect to their customer... My suggestion for you plz check other places before visiting this place

It was a short trip during basanta utsab. The atmosphere of the hotel is outstanding. Lot of greens you can feel inside the hotel. Hotel rooms are good,well maintained. Hotel staffs are polite, respectful and friendly in nature. About food I would say quality can be improved. It's a calm and quite place for staying at Shantiniketan. One thing I can assure you is that you will find peace.
