Amazing experience we had at Sonar Bangla Mayapur Resort. It was a great deal for our 2 day summer gateway. The area is so big that you cannot end up enjoying in one day. Every corner is a piece of art. Pool was also big and specious for kids as well. Food manager and staffs were so so humble and kind. Each and every staffs were so good. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Every thing was just perfect. Its an amazing place, one must give it a try.

Hotel service was splendid, and we were helped with our luggage upon arrival. The check-in process was a breeze, and we were quick to be shown to our rooms. There were no complaints about the rooms and it was clean. Basic amenities were provided inside the room and bathroom, which is good enough. There is a fake window view too, but that doesn't concern us since we just have a night sleepover.
Stayed in Room 221--beautiful and expansive property with a serene ambiance. The staff was very well-behaved, and room service was prompt. Loved the cabanas by the water body, a perfect spot to unwind. However, it's disappointing that even tea isn't served there; enjoying a morning or evening cuppa with the view would be a great addition. One concern: used utensils and room clearance were left in the lobby for over 24 hours, which felt unhygienic. Overall, a great stay with some room for improvement.
It is a spacious property with good infrastructure - it gives a 4-star look from the outside. However, the experience doesn't match the expectations. Maintenance is very poor. There was a strong stench coming from stagnant water in the garden, and several areas had no proper lighting, which made walking around at night unpleasant. The food was tasty but overpriced - I'd give that 3.5/5. The complimentary breakfast was extremely below average. It felt like they were offering it as charity rather than something guests actually paid for - not acceptable for a so-called 4-star hotel. Check-in and check-out were slow, and the reception staff didn't make any effort to be warm or welcoming. Overall, a 2-star experience. This place seriously needs better maintenance, staff training, and a more guest-focused attitude.
Road- Way to the hotel is not yet made. No proper entry sign boards. Need to depend on Google maps. Reception- The front desk is open and does not have air conditioners. The welcome drink offered was pathetic. The fountains were not working. Everywhere there was dirty and stale water. Room- Overall room was good however, there were mini lizards in our room. There is no lift to go to the top floor which is an issue for elderly people staying at the property. No hair dryer in the bathroom. Food - The complementary breakfast buffet option was very limited mostly consisting of pasta, noodles, luchi all together on the same day. Light breakfast option was only idli. The paid food items were really good and the menu is quite extensive. Spa- Needs lot of improvement. The prices are of 4/5 star but service is not upto the mark. No herbal tea or herbal water offered which is generally provided. No bottled water facility available. The service providers were wearing casual clothes. Proper spa changing clothes were also not provided. For foot massage, no chairs were available. It was done on the spa bed itself. The pedicure machine was not working. Yoga- As per staff, there is yoga class organised. We checked from morning 6 am till 10 am, but the room was closed all the time. Garden- The garden with bean chairs and lake view is not properly maintained although it has a very beautiful scenic view and if developed properly, it can add to the value of the hotel. The cushions and bean covers are already torn. No service is provided in that area. Pool- Best part of the hotel is it's pool. Overall, the stay was average and the hotel maintenance and staff service needs to be improved.
We booked room 221, 3 ladies, asking for an extra bed in the room. The room was spacious, had a nice big balcony overlooking the pool. The extra bed when brought in had a lizard jumping out and a plenty mosquitoes were nesting in it. So we decided against taking the bed and one of us slept on the spacious sofa instead. Perhaps cleaning the beds on a regular basis would be a good idea! We were greeted at the reception desk by 4 staff members, not one smile from any of them! Hospitality demands a smiley face right at the beginning. While the reception staff were sour faced, the housekeeping staff Prasenjit was ever smiling and he was extremely prompt in whatever we asked for. The food was prompt but way below standard, considering the exorbitant pricing! We asked them to clear the plates after our meals and every time the plates were left just outside our door, making the corridor stink, we finally had to call housekeeping to clear them. Is this a norm, leaving stinking plates outside? A beautiful lakeside seating has been made but they don't serve any beverages or snacks there, why will people sit if you don't have these simple arrangements? The entry to the property from the highway isn't marked properly and without Google maps one is sure to go round in circles! You have a monopoly market there, please don't waste it by getting bad reviews.
Everything was good until they forced my mother to wear a half pant or swimming costume(which you can buy from them). Though my mother was wearing an appropriate swimming material. After a lot of discussion and argument they allowed her.
This hotel is probably the best property of the Sonar Bangla hotel chain. The rooms are first class, with all amenities and supplies. The rooms are in separate units of six rooms each. There are no lifts, so choose your floor carefully. Dining experience is unparalleled, and the staff anticipate and take care of all your requirements. Food quality and kitchen hygiene are very good. The Food and Beverages Manager, Mr. Liton Deb, goes out of his way to make the guests comfortable. WiFi is free and fast, but different locations on the property have different passwords, but the same network name -needs to be separate. This hotel is situated at a distance from the main Mayapur and Nabadwip towns and so it is extremely quiet and peaceful. However, it is a bit difficult to reach without your own transport. Overall, very highly recommended!
