Jaldhaka River View Resort

Very carefully treat here & have a successful experience. Dr. Somnath Chakraborty is good man, very careful doctor. My critical eyes problem was solved. Thank you Retina Institute of Bengal. Thank you Doctors and staff also.

There is jaldhaka river behind the resort . The river view is awesome . Rooms are quite big and clean. Polite behaviour of Reception . Location of this resort is around 5km from Nagrakata railway Station. Jaldhaka Bridge is around 1.5km . Sometimes you can see elephant . Food is good . Room service is quite cheap . You can stay in this resort very pleasantly.

I had to travel to Nagrakata in September 2016 for some office work; I did not know if accommodation would be available there; checked Google and it threw up JALDHAKA River View Resort. Just to be sure, called up the contact number and spoke with Mr Ganguly ( partner). On his assurance, 2 of us decided to stay at this place.||The taxi driver at New Jalpaiguri (that's where we went by train) had no clue about the hotel, but knew of Nagrakata. Anyway, with the help of google and Mr Ganguly on phone, managed to reach the place through a tea estate negotiating cobbled roads after a 3 hour drive through Garumara forest.||The hotel is very basic having 8 rooms ( 4 on each floor) and is managed by the owner's son (Mr Rustom Phone +919635506888, speaks only Bengali and a spatter of Hindi). The rooms were pretty clean as was the toilets. There is no shortage of water and power failures are few and far between.||The River Jaldhaka flows adjacent to the property- we could reach the river bank within 5 minutes, walking. There is the Rail Bridge over Jaldhaka that's at a handshaking distance from the hotel.||Rustom and his colleague (cook-errand boy-housekeeper et al) were at their best hosting us. (there were 2 other rooms booked by others). Local food was cooked by them for us for Lunch, evening tea and Dinner as also the next morning's breakfast. The food was homely, the water as good as spring water - we were quite comfortable by the evening.||The property is on a 4 hectare land with lots of gardening and also agriculture.||For the tourists planning to visit Garumara or Chapramari, this hotel could be considered an alternative - it is a mere 8 kms from Chapramari entry point - you can actually see the forest just across the River.||Rustom stated that he regularly arranges for the forest visits for his guests with pick up from across his hotel.||The railway station closest to this place (where regular mail trains halt) is NeW Mal Junction ( 28 kms away).||If you want to enjoy the forest, sitting with your feet in the waters of Jaldhaka and not afraid of a herd of elephant grazing your hotel's boundary wall, go and stay at this place.||Rustom could also take you around the tea garden in which this property resides. He would also gladly partake cuttings from his lovely plants for you to plant at your home garden||A Cautionary Advice - Do not expect anything but basic amenities in a fresh environment||We went expecting a terrible stay at an unknown place but came back a happy team, enthused enough to recommend this place to others

Rooms and bathrooms aren't very clean. Food is good. The location is quite good. There's a river behind the hotel, you can hear the water flowing at all times.

Very good place who wants alone with family.There is no communication from outside,depends upon vehicles.Market far distance. But Roostsm,rajen,satyada,soumenda very careful to yours.food is good. There is no geysers, generators, but the water is pure.garden is beautiful. Lots of birds.

This resort is in very rural area, you will not get anything outside, u have to depend on them for EVERYTHING. But yes this resort's people are good helpful. And 2 stars because less luxurious i.e. no ac no geyser no . But if u are searching for cheap rate, u can go for it, they provide good service.

Great resort, one of the finest resort I'be ever seen. I visited this place for 4 times. If you go there in mid of october I'm sure you can see wild elephant from your balcony.

The resort is located in an amazing place much close to nature with the beautiful river flowing by its side. The hospitality of Mrs. Sudipta Dasgupta is great!!! Feels like going back there again.
