MAITHON TOURIST LODGE, Maithon, Asansol-69

We had very pleasant and comfortable stay here. Food is standard one, no hi-fi business. Location and other services are also very good.

Got a lovely view of the dam...... Gud enuf 4 a night stay... But few rooms only.... A small building with hardly 3 cars parking...... Rooms n cleanliness not the best compare to other tourist lodges...

We had a 3d/2n stay at the lodge.we stayed at the cottage on Day 1.the rooms are decent with adjoining verandah from where one can have a beautiful view of the lake. The dressing mirror is huge.On Day 2 we shifted to to the AC Deluxe rooms on the first floor.the rooms are much bigger with adequate space.the toilets are clean and stocked with adequate accessories.the ACs are well maintained.the linens are clean. The food is good and all the items mentioned in the menu card are available.the hotel employees are very polite and cooperative. Breakfast options are generous. Dormitory available for drivers. All in all a nice and comfortable stay awaits .must visit for location and comfort.the room rates are reasonable and services offered are praiseworthy.

Excellent place for weekend getaways and short trips to rejuvenate the mind and body. Very good location, away from the maddening rush of city life. Wonderful picturesque views from the rooms itself. Staff, service, food all are very good. Ample parking place. Must visit for the awesome experience.

A wonderful lodge beside Maithon Dam. Maithon is a Town located in Jharkhand - West Bengal Border. Most of the township part and reservoir is in Jharkhand and the Hydel is located in west Bengal. The place is stretched between Dhanbad Dist. In Jharkhand and Burdwan District in Bengal. By Train: Kumardhubi (KMME) is the nearest railway station to Maithon Dam at a distance of 9 KM. There are frequent Express and Passenger trains to this station. There are direct trains to Howrah, Dhanbad, Ranchi, Patna etc. The best train to reach Kumardhubi from Howrah / Dhanbad are Black-Diamond Exp & Coal-field Exp. The railway station is small in size and lacks infrastructure. Local auto charges Rs-100 from this railway station to dam. You can also get share autos from Kumardhubi to Kali Pahari in Maithon from where the Dam starts. One can also come to Dhanbad or Asansol railway station from any Part of the country and from there travel by road as both are nearly equidistant from Maithon.

Well maintained guest house to stay at Maithon. The entrance road was bit narrow and not so good. Rooms were good and lot of complementary things like tooth brush, tooth paste, soap, mineral water etc they provided. Though in room there was no coffee facilities and they were not providing adequate tea bags. On each day we requested them to provide the same then only tea bags were provided. Kitchen service was also good though it was bit over priced specially snacks items. Staffs behaviour was nice. Friday to Sunday evening they organised some musical concert where local musicians were performed which was very good.

Food, cleanliness and staff behavior is okay according to the price. However not great. Night view from balconies of the cottages is awesome. Please take chairs there, sit, switch off lights and enjoy....

Everything is perfect here. Main building rooms are enough spacious with all modern amenities. Manager and stuffs are very helpful. 1st floor rooms have excellent views and surrounded by wide corridor where you can enjoy a cup of coffee with magnificent barakar river.
