Hills Tale

I recently stayed at a charming hostel in Kalimpong, and I couldn't have had a better experience! The location is perfect, offering stunning views of the mountains and a peaceful vibe. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, from suggesting great places to visit to helping with transportation. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with comfortable beds and good facilities. There's also a lovely common area where guests can relax, chat, or share travel stories. The hostel's kitchen was fully equipped, and I appreciated the option to cook my own meals or grab something from the cafe. Whether you're a solo traveler or with friends, this place is a fantastic choice. It's affordable, welcoming, and the perfect base for exploring Kalimpong. Highly recommended!

So I very recently stayed in this Backpackers hostel. the toilets, rooms and the common area is all clean and very neatly maintained! Basically you leave your outside slippers in the foyer area and enter the space... Terrace is Beautiful! With a great view of the hills! I was traveling solo for the first time and was quite anxious. So as I didn't know to ride a 2 wheeler, they provide this service in which they join you in the adventure, take you around to places on the 2 wheeler. Sandup(host) was honestly the most friendly and genuine person. I felt very comfortable to go around with. I stayed here for 3 Days. It felt like I had visited a friends place for vacation. And also they serve great home made food! So definitely recommend to anybody who is travelling around solo or together! It's definitely a fun place to be. Special mention on the playlist! Loved it:)

Had an amazing stay at Hills tale hostel.The location is calm, just walkable from bus stand and market and the owners and staffs were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. One of the highlights was the dorm room--it was spacious, well-lit, and the beds were super comfortable, offering a great night's sleep. The room was also kept very clean, and there were lockers for securing valuables. It was a perfect environment for relaxing after a day of exploring. I would definitely recommend Hills tale for anyone looking for a fun, social experience on a budget. I'd happily stay here again.

The hostel is perfect for solo travelers and group of friends! The rooms are clean and cozy, and the atmosphere is super friendly. It's easy to meet other travelers, and the hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home. A great place to stay if you're exploring on your own! Great hosts! Sandup and Nishchal made sure our stay was comfortable and were very friendly. These guys serve dinner made at home so their Shitake Mushroom Thukpa was THE BEST Thukpa I've ever had.

The accommodation at Hills Tale is well setup and comfortable making it easy to feel at home. Sandup is a great host who has lots of advice for things to do in Kalimpong and the surrounding areas! The included breakfasts at the hostel were also good!

Amazing Place. Home cooked meals with the freshest ingredients. Great hosts who also organize tours around the city. I really enjoyed meeting fellow travelers, playing cards and listening to live music.

This hostel has it all. Great views, peace, aesthetics, nice people, clean rooms, amenities, good food, well maintained terrace with beautiful plants, easy to locate. Although I stayed only for a day, this place has my heart. The host was a very well behaved, helpful and nice guy. I would definitely recommend this to solo travellers and those who are travelling with friends.
