Deki Lodge

Set slightly out of town (10 minutes to taxi/bus stand). Run by a welcoming and English speaking manager this is a little time warp of a colonial building. There are four dogs on the property. Tasty breakfast (cost). Hot water but not shower. Bed was firm.

Very homely lodge in a peaceful location. The rooms were a nice size and had private bathrooms which were ideal. The owner and other worker was extremely friendly and accommodating and did everything to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The home cooked food was beautiful and there was a nice outside terrace which could be used for relaxing and chatting.

A belated review for a stay in December 2019. Deki is like an Oasis - behind the front gate it is a calm and relaxing oasis. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home. The room was the cleanest and most comfortable of all those we experienced during our travels around India - and the views of the mountains were breathtaking. There were choices for breakfast which we enjoyed on the terrace. The hotel is an easy short walk from the shops, restaurants and transport. There is a lot of local history and wonderful nature around the area, and we hope to be back one day.

Deki Lodge ...Situated at very good location, Market is nearby around 5 mins walk if one searched the shortcuts & stairs, Super deluxe rooms are big enough & neat. Satellite TV channels bit unavailable. Foods are OK, though limited variety since its a like a home stay. Daily room services are satisfactory. Special mention about the Gardens & flowers all around the property which definitely fresh one's mind. Very well behaved staffs. Terrace types common balconies are good, sunny & specious enough. Good service by the staff, they were extremely helpful and friendly. And the rooms were fairly furnished as well as clean. It is pretty close to the bus stand but still is very peaceful. Deki has an overall homely feel to it. Will definitely stay there whenever we visit next

Nice peaceful location, though quite near the city center its very quite. Run by a family who are very hospitable. The rooms are clean, however, upper rooms have a much better view. The only blemish is the lack of man-power running the place, due to which there are limited food options and housekeeping services. But its a value for money for small families, couples and backpackers.

Pros: Budget lodge, decent rooms with free wifi. Upper floors have rooms with balcony. Always prefer them as they have a good view and have a common dining area. Washrooms are clean with hot water available.||||Cons: Only breakfast available. No laundry service. Lower rooms are a bit stuffy. Cleanliness can be better. A bit far from city center, this requires hiring local cabs which charge a bomb for short rides (approx 100-120 one way for a 10 min ride to the city center)

Nice stay at deki lodge. Little bit costlier, but ok. Feels like home. Clean room n bathroom. Awesome view from the upper room. Good food served here, very familiar behavior of the manager. Also it is situated in the center of Kalimpong near market n taxi stand. So if you want to stay in Kalimpong as your home stay you can visit here.
