Art Mile Kalimpong

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Art Mile in the Upper Chibbo area of Kalimpong, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The views from our room were breathtaking -- waking up to those majestic mountains every morning felt like a dream. We stayed in the Rock Villa, which features a unique Arctic room with a cozy bedroom upstairs. We loved the creative design and the attention to detail that reflects Mr. Mile's vision and passion for this place. From the moment we checked in, we were welcomed in a traditional way, and every corner of the room was thoughtfully explained to us. The food deserves a special mention -- it was truly top-notch. If you want to taste authentic local cuisine made by native chefs, this is the place to be. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner for three nights, and every meal was packed with flavor and heart. I'll definitely be trying to recreate those recipes and flavors at home! Despite being in a remote area, the resort offers 24/7 power backup, fast internet, hot water, and even a hair dryer -- impressive in itself. The property also has its own farm and beautiful hiking trails, especially magical at sunrise. A big thank you to Mr. Mile for creating such a soulful space. You can feel the love and precision that's gone into every part of the property. We'd absolutely love to return and relive the experience. See you again soon!

You can tell that this place is a true labour of love. The owner left his Mumbai roots behind and adopted Kalimpong not just for its natural beauty, but for its very soul. Locals make up the amazingly warm and friendly staff at this property. The rooms are comfortable and cozy, with hot water available throughout (if you just wait a little after turning on the tap). The delicious local cuisine is prepared with most ingredients grown organically on the property itself. If you want to lose yourself in the serene lap of the mountains, definitely choose to spend some days here. It's secluded enough to help you disconnect, while still keeping you well within the reach of all modern amenities.

This is a truly unique property that Virgil has built with love. The cottages are away from the bustle and have beautiful views of the mountains. We woke up to all kinds of bird songs in the morning. It is also right next to a lush green trail, if you want to observe these birds. The cottages are simple, elegant and luxurious and priced well. The staff are extremely nice. This place is simply magical, offering the perfect blend of tranquility, nature, and mouthwatering local cuisine crafted from fresh veggies right from their own garden. As soon as we arrive, we'll embark on a mini adventure down a flight of stairs to reach our cottage. It might be a bit tricky for our elders, but no worries, a more accessible path is in the works. This gem is still blossoming into its full potential, so patience will be rewarded. One night, we decided to spice things up with a bonfire experience, and wow, it was absolutely amazing! Imagine sitting under a blanket of stars, warming up by the fire, indulging in delicious barbecue pork and chicken, all while sipping on delightful millet beer. It truly doesn't get any better than this! And a special shoutout to the incredible host, who went above and beyond to arrange a bike for us. It made our experience even more memorable, and we were genuinely grateful for that. Get ready to make some incredible memories!

A highlight of my time in India so far. An incredible spot carved into the mountain side. I will hold the view from our cabin in my mind forever and draw back upon it when I want to remind myself of a time I felt at peace. The staff were incredible. The food was phenomenal & only added to making this one of the best retreats I've ever had.

A cozy place, surrounded by layers of mountains that lead to the Himalayan range. Welcomed by the Chirping of the birds, the tapping of the cricket and the organic food. It has been a lovely stay with my friend and we loved the Lepcha culture and the authentic respect that it has given to nature. What a beautiful property to dwell with nature.

We enjoyed so much our visit to the Art Mile! This place is a colourful, simple yet really smart and creative fusion between true local traditions and innovation, with an international edge. Cosy apartments enclosed in a lush vegetation on the hills just below the Himalaya - built in harmony with nature and with the comforts you need (including of course Wi-Fi.) We enjoyed delicious food prepared with local vegetables and recipes. Recommended.
