I recently stayed in the roots shoots and beds. It was like fantastic.There is lots of greenery that i like most and it is very well maintained.There some member of the hotel are in holiday. Even there provide us very tasty food and they do not leave any inconvience.There is cute cat. Also a blue eyes pahadi dog he was very playful and cute. So i decided drop a video of dog.

My husband, our child and I had the pleasure of staying at Roots Shoots and Beds Homestay, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The homestay offered a perfect blend of comfort and warmth, making us feel right at home. The host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met with a smile. The rooms were cozy, clean, and well-maintained, providing the perfect atmosphere for relaxation after a day of exploring. We especially loved the serene surroundings and the beautiful views, which made our stay even more special. Overall, it was a peaceful and pleasant experience, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a homely and relaxing getaway. Here pets are allowed too and there is a beautiful swing too.

There was no caretaker to take our luggage inside. The behavior of the owner little bit rude. You can't talk after 10 PM. No parking spot was there. No facilities were there for our driver to stay at night. The service was poor and we had to pay extra money for dinner and lunch which was too much expensive.

Our stay was nice and comfortable. The food was excellent and the service was also good. Everyone was friendly at this property. Only drawback is the lack of maintenance. The blankets were smelly, towels and bedsheets had spots and the property overall revealed signs of low or no maintenance. The homestay is designed beautifully but lack of maintenance is making it look dull. My suggestion would be to maintain at a basic level atleast. We thank you for your service during our stay there and also for giving us lemongrass for making tea.

I had the most incredible time at Roots, Shoots, and Bed in Kalimpong! The view from my window was absolutely breathtaking, and the homestay felt like a slice of paradise surrounded by lush plants and fragrant flowers. The host and staff were incredibly kind, and uncle (the host) even took me on a tour of the local market and other hidden gems in town. It's a memory that I will treasure forever. Despite being just 5 minutes away from the bustling main town by cab, the homestay was an oasis of tranquility. The view of the town from my window, especially during the rainy season, was nothing short of spectacular and incredibly soothing. The food was delicious and comforting, and the hospitality was top-notch. Exploring the town on foot and venturing to farther destinations in a cab allowed me to immerse myself in the rich history and natural beauty of Kalimpong. The local cafes served up some of the best coffees, and sipping a cup while taking in the stunning views was pure bliss. The people of Kalimpong added an extra layer of warmth to my stay with their kindness and helpfulness. I'm already looking forward to returning someday!

Worst homestay that I have ever stayed in. The service was very bad. There was no staff around to carry luggage to rooms or to the vehicle during checkout. No housekeeping on call. In fact there is no intercom in the rooms for communication, except to phone the owner who is anyway not available anytime. |Don't expect any food for lunch or dinner except maybe breakfast if you are on a CP plan. The homestay is a good 5 km away from the town and it may get difficult to get a proper meal. |There are two rooms on the 1st floor and I had chosen one of them expecting a good view but i was disappointed. It felt claustrophobic actually. No proper windows or ventilation. The toilet was broken . |The owner was not available and the reception was empty during check out and it took more than 1 1/2 hours for his wife to come out and get the formalities done. Thoroughly unprofessional. The stay was not worth the amount paid. We will definitely not recommend to anybody.

A wonderful place a midst of nature . The aesthetic look of the entire property justifies the name "Roots, shoots and beds". A swing with a cosy seating arrangement is an extra USP to the homestay. Nice ambience & wonderful hospitality. It is located 10 minutes away from Sakya Monestary.We traveled with two extremes of age and stay was comfortable for both of the groups(2/6/2024-3/6/2024).The food taste was average. However, the cons were they denied to serve us snacks on the second day. It is really hard for us to get snacks in the evening for a team of 8-10 people.

We have stayed at Roots, Shoots & Beds in May 2023 (5 people, 2 rooms, ground floor). Excellent experience, especially from the fact that the owners themselves take care of the property. I look forward to visit again in the future.|Pros:|- The owners of this property are extremely courteous. That is the biggest plus. A few instances worth mentioning:|1. We arrived late & instead of chapatis rice was available for dinner. The owner took the pain to prepare chapatis late at night.|2. I was looking for curd, which is unavailable at the kitchen, so the owner's wife brought us curd form her adjoining home kitchen. How many people would do this in 2023?|3. One of us wanted a rose cutting & instead the owner gifted us English rose (rooted), free of cost from his garden|- Calm & quite location|- Few rooms, so not overcrowded|- Beautiful, natural landscape garden, full of exotic plants such as Geranium & wild orchids |- Good scenic beauty. At night, you can see the night lights of Kalimpong|- Food is good. The cook is well behaved & efficient||Cons: (not too many):|- Low manpower, so you will not get the service as good as standard hotels|- The rooms can be better (cleaner, with cozy beds & amenities such as tea/coffee bags etc.)|- The entrance is narrow. It is difficult to locate the property. A better gate/prominent glow sign is recommended
