Palki Lodge & Reception

It's a dirty and too worst hotels in west bengal. Horrible situation face, different types of ants are moving here and there( cockroach, kennos, big). Only we stay there due to the service personnel Mr shyamal giri. Really he is excellent. Please, please, please avoid this lodge.

First of all the Location was perfect for exploring 'jhargram'.... it's very close to deer park.The staffs were friendly and helpful..as well as the owner behavior was so good.

Very bad. Rooms are not clean and staff of the lodge are very unprofessional.

We booked 3 rooms and stayed there for 2 nights. None of them was clean and they did not bother to even sweep the floor during our stay. Smell like urine was coming from the bed in one room. Bathrooms were dirty and smelling really bad. No cleaning service. One ceiling fan was making so loud noise that we couldn't sleep properly. In the same room, the bathroom does not have any light. There is no security at all here. Expect any outsider inside the hotel as you will not fine anyone in the reception and the main gate will be open during the whole day. We came back to the hotel at night without waking up anyone and got inside the room. You can imagine your safety and privacy. Since the main door had to be locked, we had to wake up the caretaker and believe me, it was so difficult.. Even kids had to hit the door hard enough to make enough noise for quite a while. Also, the water filter needs to be serviced as 3 of us got stomach ache and fever by drinking the water from it. Better you get mineral water bottle from outside.

If you want the worst experience then you should stay in Palki. My goodness! We booked 4 ac rooms one of them had ac which was not working. We told them and they didn't even bother. They could not provide us with 4 rooms in a lodge so we had to shift to Jalsa. The toilets were so uncleaned. It smelled like dead animal. The rooms were dirty. Ok so the next thing was we were so hungry after the long journey. We decided to have our lunch first and then get fresh. The place where they serve food was also very dirty and filthy. The dal was like water. After finishing lunch we decided to leave because if we would have been there for a night we would eventually fall sick. We did not use the rooms and still they took the full payment of one day. The conclusion is this is not a lodge it's basically a house with 2 to 3 rooms and the owner wants money. They have only 2 staffs working there.

As per double bed single room space and bed size I will give them 4star. Levotary - 2.75 star. Toilet room size is very tiny and compact. Hygiene maintenance wise I will give them 3star. (SPECIALLY MENTION THE BLANKET WAS SO DIRTY AND BAD SMELLING, THEY SHOULD CLEAN IT REGULARLY. BUT NOT LEAST RECEPTIONIST WAS TOTALLY A BIG CHOR HE GIVE US A ROOM WITHOUT ANY BILL SO THIS MUCH OF AMOUNT HE KEPT TO HIMSELF ONLY.

I have been to various places and stayed at many hotels and lodges but I have never had such a bad experience like this one. To simply put, it was absolutely disgusting. First thing first, the rooms were congested, not at all spacious. Even a triple bed room had hardly any space left after that huge bed. That was quite uncomfortable. Talking about the bathrooms, those were horrible. The bathrooms had stains everywhere and were very unhygienic. What more, the staffs did not bother take complains about the unclean bathrooms and sent a sweeper after two days. Cleaning facilities were totally absent in this lodge. They did not even send anyone to clean the contents of the wastepaper baskets. Coming to the food they served and their dining hall, those were substandard as well. The lodge had no kitchen as such. Breakfast and evening snacks along with tea came actually from unhygienic roadside eateries; lunch and dinner came from the kitchen of lodge's owner whose house was at a little distance. The worst thing was they had no provision of providing filtered water. What they gave was plain tap water as drinking water. After the second day each of us in our party fell sick. Moreover, the dining hall was a grazing field for stray cats. To put simply, everything about Palki Lodge and Reception was extremely disappointing. I strongly advise everyone who are considering this place as an option for their travel itinerary to think twice. I would never recommend this place to anybody. Also, the owner, Swarna Kamal Basu was a rude man who misbehaved with us. In conclusion, that place is disgusting and horrible. I had the worst experience at that lodge.
