Snow View Guest House Kausani & Homestay

It was a very good stay for me and my friend at the Snow View Guest House. Aunty Ji the owner of Homestay was extremely helpful and caring. You will feel like home here. Location of the homestay is also very good. It is near to all the prominent attaractions of Kausani and you can also experience beautiful Sunrise from here. Definitely recommended!

The aunty was incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel at home with her kindness. Her homemade food was simply amazing--just like a mother's love on a plate! We stayed here for two days. The rooms were good and the view from the homestay was great. Peaceful atmosphere. But the owner aunty is very rude. Every half an hour, she knocks the door and asks to switch off the lights. Geyser control is in her hand, only starts for 15 minutes. Asking many times, "where did you go? What did you do? Time is over...Now vacate the room immediately."

A great value-for-money guesthouse with amazing views on a clear day. Very well located on the ridge with access to both the roads that run inside Kausani. This makes it great for walks through the forests of Kausani, the lower road connects with the upper levels of the Kausani Tea Estate, and the upper road has access to the Gandhi Ashram, the museum, the market, restaurants, etc. The rooms are largish for the price, come with a table, chairs and a dresser. The washrooms have hot water in the tap, though not in the shower. The real USP is the magnificent view of the Nanda Devi range from the two floors of this property and the rooftop. It can be fairly mesmerizing on a clear day. The open spaces on the property are good for DIY yoga in the sun. The guesthouse is like a homestay with the friendly family staying on site. If you like simple Kumaoni meals or food, the landlady can make it for you. Else, there are restaurants close by and the guesthouse also has an arrangement with one of them to provide food in the rooms. Keep a lookout for pesky monkeys that may raid your room for food.

I have stayed twice at Snow view guest house. Aunty and her son manages the homestay. Their hospitality is amazing and they are very friendly and attend the guests well. Homemade food available at the facility and it is super tasty. You can try kumaoni delicacies here or anything else you want. The Views of the snowcapped Himalayan peaks chaukhamba, trishul panchachulli etc is amazing. I would highly recommend everyone to stay here
