The property is large and rooms are spacious and clean. But the resort is pretty understaffed and mostly locals are employed who are polite and nice but doesn't have the skills and experience of running a resort. The food menu is pretty limited and tasted average. There could have been provision of some extra curricular activities for different age groups like pool table, badminton and chess, carom etc. The rooms doesn't have a view but there is a point in resort where you can see a beautiful view of Panchauli ranges on a clear day. I hope the property works on these aspects.

Our experience with the resort, which we booked entirely for our wedding, was extremely disappointing. The establishment is severely understaffed, lacking sufficient personnel to cater to guests, and the staff, primarily locals, are neither trained nor professional, with the exception of the management team. We found ourselves constantly having to chase after staff to fulfill basic requests. The owner displayed a lack of professionalism and hospitality, failing to deliver on promises such as providing heaters for each of the 29 rooms, ultimately supplying only two small heaters. Morning tea service, which was assured for every room, was neglected, requiring repeated requests from the groom. Similar issues arose during the hi-tea service, where promised items were not delivered. Communication was also problematic, as calls to the service desk or restaurant often went unanswered. The property, despite being the most expensive in the area, is poorly maintained, with rooms suffering from leaks and inadequate upkeep. While the view from the top of the hotel is pleasant, it is marred by water leakage on the roof. Additionally, the access road to the resort is in disrepair, and there is a lack of security on the premises. Overall, this venue is overpriced for events like weddings, characterized by unfulfilled promises, and is not recommended for large gatherings.
The resort is at great location. Staff behaviour is also nice. Loved the stay. We enjoyed the stay.
I recently stayed at Neelgangan in Chaukori, Pithoragarh, for a wedding function, and my experience was extremely disappointing. From the beginning, we had a fixed price agreement for one night and a day, yet when it was time to settle the bill, the hotel shockingly demanded double the agreed amount(Let me be very transparent here- 1.7 lakhs for hosting and catering for 60-70 people and 2500 per room, we agreed that rooms will be charged according to the rooms occupied). Despite our prior discussions, they were completely unprofessional and refused to honor the deal. They asked us to pay 4.85 saying that there were more then 100 people, which we agree there were 110 people for dinner but the amount they charged is skyhigh. There were 28 rooms that were occupied on the mehendi night and the next day when we checked out after the wedding they asked us to pay for all the rooms again. Unprofessional behaviour. As if that wasn't bad enough, the service was terrible. The staff was unresponsive, and basic hospitality was missing. Given that we were hosting a wedding, we expected at least decent service, but they failed on every front. They only had 4 people to cater the whole wedding including the Manager. The guests had to wait for food and go to the kitchen by themselves. I strongly advise anyone planning to stay here--especially for events--to get everything in writing and be prepared for last-minute price hikes. The management is not transparent, and their business practices feel dishonest. Chaukori is a beautiful place, but Neelgangan is not worth the trouble. Avoid if you want a hassle-free experience! ---
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Neelgagan Resort in the serene town of Chaukori, nestled in the majestic Himalayas of Uttarakhand. My stay was for three days, and I couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and rejuvenating experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality by Kailash Ji, the hotel manager, who ensured that our check-in was smooth and hassle-free. His attentive nature and dedication to guest satisfaction were evident throughout our stay. We stayed in the duplex rooms, which were spacious, beautifully designed, and offered breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. The rooms were well-equipped with modern amenities, while maintaining a cozy, rustic charm that perfectly matched the natural beauty of the location. The peaceful environment allowed us to truly unwind and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The resort's facilities were equally impressive. The cleanliness and maintenance of the property stood out, and it was clear that the staff takes pride in keeping everything spotless. The food served at the resort was another highlight--each meal was not only fresh but also incredibly tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of dishes, both local and continental, which were prepared with great care and attention to flavor. It was evident that the chefs put a lot of effort into making each meal special. What truly stood out was the cooperation and warmth of the staff. Every member of the team was courteous, helpful, and eager to ensure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Whether it was assisting with our requests or providing local recommendations, the staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. One of the highlights of our stay was the stunning view of the Himalayas, which we enjoyed from both our room and the resort's common areas. It was the perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of nature. The location of Neelgagan Resort is ideal for those looking to explore the surrounding areas of Chaukori, with plenty of opportunities for trekking, nature walks, and sightseeing. Overall, Neelgagan Resort exceeded my expectations, offering a peaceful retreat with excellent service, stunning views, and comfortable accommodations. The tasty food and the cooperative staff made our stay even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting the Chaukori area--whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or simply a place to relax and recharge amidst nature.
Good property at great location. We could see Panchchuli peaks of Kumaon Himalayan range from terrace. Met the owner was simple and cooperative Only issue was the restaurant is at a climb which may be a problem for people with knee or walking problems. Though room service is provided promptly to overcome this problem
If you are interested in spending some time in the lap of nature this is the best resort which is surrounded by lush green forest and have spectacular view of Himalayas.
