Snow View Cottage Kasar Devi

I stayed on the property for 2 nights Along with 3 of my friends. Place was amazing, the lawn area was peaceful and the architecture of cottages was one of it's kind. The only problem was the food, there are limited options available on the property, Food was decent. The property was full of entertainment piece like board games, jenga and carrom board. Bonfire was also available at your disposal. Lastly, I would say i will definitely come back to this property for a longer stay and you should too.

The property is well located and quite thoughtfully maintained. Linen, furniture, decor, design everything is wonderful. One aspect which further enhances the experience here, is a good collection of books which one can enjoy reading in such a beautiful surrounding. The only one drawback is availability of readymade food at or near the place. Cooking your own meal is the best option, but again, non vegetarian food is not allowed in the premises, which is slightly discomforting in an otherwise wonderful perfect vacation experience.

Property is on a off-beat location from the main Kasar Devi road. Location is secluded from hustle of Almora town, its a old well maintained cabin in middle of no where.||In order to reach to this place one has to hike, un-marked pathway from main road. One cannot take this pathway back after sunset until escorted by property caretaker and Simba the cute watchdog.||Food option are next to none ( do check with caretaker availability in advance for your food needs). Though guest do have full kitchen setup but then again you have to buy groceries and has to manage on their own. Also wifi is pretty weak and cabin doesn't have power back-up except family suite.||Since its middle of jungle, I would highly recommend not to step outside the property after sunset. There is small french cafe down hill 100m for good food.

Home away home is what best this property can be defined as. I had spent two nights with my 3yr old son and my partner and trust me when I say it each single penny spent is worth. Host are so humble and food is as equal having home food, for me being a mother that was a biggest comfort for my son.

As famously quoted by Jane Austen, "To sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure, is the most perfect refreshment". Sitting amidst tall pine trees, overlooking beautiful Himalayan Peaks, this rustic cottage (which doubles as a library having an incredible collection of books) has everything to offer to a nature lover. Super host Mr. Pratap's delicious dishes add cherry on top of the cake. Counting the days, until I'm back here again.

Home with a view, a soulful home and done with absolutely beautiful taste. A must visit place for people who are looking to visit Almora and looking for a home away from home. This is a quaint and homely cottage where everything is tastefully done. The hosts are super awesome. Everything is just perfect. The caretaker - Pratap ji is a master at everything that he does and a one man army in himself. Food is so homely and served with so much affection. Loved this place so much that we requested the host to extend our stay by a day. We are definitely coming back for a longer stay.

Everything is splendidly rooted in nature in this place. The stay was very comfortable and relaxing, except the food part.. Would have opted for using the kitchen, if we knew that there are no eateries in the vicinity.
