    1. Food served was Good, but all the time served cold, since the kitchen is far away and no food warmers on service Table . 2. Attitude of the Land Lady of this Home Stay was not very conducive to the Hospitality industry. 3. Will not Recommend.

Shikwa Haveli is located on the outskirts of Baghpat, in a village named Katha. The haveli has been owned by the Raza family for the past 700 years, and was a ruin until Shariq Raza and his wife Alka renovated it all and turned it into a heritage homestay. The place has six guest rooms, each of which (along with the other public rooms, on the ground floor) have been done up in different styles: on the ground floor, for instance, there's a lounge called the Burma Room, decorated with an array of artefacts from Myanmar. Our room, the Africa Room, similarly had various textiles, carved wood, furniture, sculpture, artwork and more from across Africa. Our room was a little dimly-lit and the bathroom was slightly cramped, but otherwise, it was okay. The walls aren't very thick, so the noises drifting in from the village next door till late at night were irritating. The grounds are lovely, with pretty gardens and panoramic views of the Yamuna, which is very close by. Food was interesting, since besides the more predictable North Indian fare, there were also little-known local delicacies like a barfi-like dessert (lauj) made from bottle gourd; and minced meat (keema) cooked with five types of green leafy vegetables. A pleasant weekend break from Delhi.

Very bad place and location....it doesnt have any staff and the hospitality and services are very bad...the owner doesnt respond...the food is very low quality...

This is a private residence. It also has a home stay program. The best part about it is the way it's preserved. We went there thinking its a public space but upon getting there we realised, it was for people who choose to stay there only. I could not see the whole castle though the entrance did look wheelchair friendly. The place has beautifully maintained gardens and ample parking within premises. Getting there can be a bit tricky because the lane that leads to this place are narrower than usual. If you miss the exit suggested by Google, you will have a tough time getting there. The locals seemed friendly. Since I didn't have much time this time around, I'd definitely want to stay there some day. I'd recommend people to call the owners before they visit and book a stay before they enter the premises. One thing is for sure though... It would be a beautiful experience to stay there.

Worst place ever. You cant even get your own food there. The food they provide is bery unhygienic... Lots of flies sitting on the food. And the owner is very pokey whatever you do there

Great place but there is an uphill walk to the Haveli, cabs n scooters acan go down the lane but big vehicles cannot. Located in Baghpat near NCR on the banks of Yamuna. The facilities are great and the modification done from what it was earlier is just fabulous.

This is a Haveli, fully renovated and restored. The Haveli is a beautiful structure. Part of it has been virtually converted into an art exhibition. Has rooms for stay.

A culturally and historically significant 700 year old beautiful Haveli (traditional Indian mansion/residence of nobility), lovingly restored by the owners and converted into a modern venue for homestays and various events/photoshoots. The upkeep, renovations, curated artifacts and furniture have been put together with attention to detail. The family that owns Shikwa Haveli are wonderful and caring hosts, who are genuinely interested in proliferating their knowledge and appreciation of the local history, culture, and cuisine. They are happy to paint a vivid picture of centuries past, going all the way back to the pre-Mughal period, for interested guests. Definitely worth a visit for travellers and professionals in search of interesting event venues.
