The stay was average for the price we paid. Room and bathroom were clean, but maintenance is lacking--dusty AC, rusted shower, and bad smell from the sink. Limited parking and no AC in corridors. Breakfast was good, but utensils need replacement and most items were finished after 8 AM, though it's served till 9:30 AM. Staff were friendly and helpful
My stay at Grand Arcadia was excellent. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, making it the best stay of my trip. The staff was exceptionally kind and attentive. The housekeeping lady did an amazing job, keeping the room spotless every day. A special mention to Chef Nandu, who made breakfast a great experience. The included breakfast was delicious, and I noticed how he personally engaged with guests, offering extra options and making sure everyone was satisfied. I also had a brief but meaningful cultural exchange with him, where he shared insights about Hinduism and recommended some temples in the area to visit, which I truly appreciated. Overall, this hotel provided a comfortable and welcoming experience. Highly recommended!
AMBIANCE - Clean, modern, and comfortable. Breakfast buffet is complimentary and nice! ||STAFF - Nice and efficient. Brinda is one of the front desk staff members - she is super impressive. She's fast, intelligent, proactive, anticipates client needs quickly, professional, and just a nice person. She also knows how to manage difficult people and situations well. Every hotel needs a Brinda! She deserves promotion to manager.||FOOD - Restaurant food can be nice, but they generally only serve South Indian food which can be very spicy hot! If you're a foreigner, bring antacid tablets. You'd be lucky to find better alternatives in the area.||LOCATION - Very close to two prominent temples and accessible by ricksha / auto / taxi: Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple, and Jambukeswarar Temple. 15-20 minutes away from nearest railway station.||CONS - The hotel employs full-time boys who are very young (approx 12-15) who should be in school. Their families have given their boys over to the hotel to work and thereby support their families. It's sad, but its also disturbing to see very young boys employed as cleaners and kitchen workers when instead they should be studying. Perhaps that is how things work in rural India in 2024, and I'm hopeful that local, state, and federal governments will change that.. so that every child goes through 100% of secondary / high school education at minimum before being eligible for employment.
*Disappointing Experience, Same Issue, Same Room!* I had a frustrating stay at Grand Arcade Hotel last week. We were assigned Room 102, a non-AC room, despite facing the same issue in December 2023. The AC was not working, and despite repeated assurances from the staff that it would be fixed, nothing was done. We ended up spending another uncomfortable night in the heat, just like last time. It's concerning that this recurring issue remains unresolved. The staff insists that they can only address problems when reported, but why isn't routine maintenance in place to ensure facilities are in working order? This reflects a lack of accountability and a poor commitment to customer satisfaction. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Until they take guest comfort seriously, I'd advise looking elsewhere.
Horrible reception experience, all old and expired toiletries given like shampoo, body lotion paste and shaving gel. Earlier it use to be very good hotel and now not any more. The contact number provided on Google doesn't belong to them, but some one took reservation when I called. To my surprise I got embarrassed when I appeared on my reservation day. And receptionist feels as if she works in a govt office. Never ever experienced such a rude behavior. Food in restaurant is good it's multicusine nin veg restaurant, the water bottle provided in room is cheap quality. Finally untill managment take this as serious feedback I never ever want to visit again keeping horrible experience in mind.
Very helpful staff at the front desk, at their Chettinad restaurant Kannappa, and their maitre-d Arun. ||Rooms are spacious and furnished tastefully. The linens and towels but the first room I stayed had a faulty ac. The lift is not in full trim and makes groaning noises. Dodgy!||Overall very good stay and the hotel offers true Value for Money. I will come back and stay here as and when I visit Trichy next.
