Udayam Guest House

My wife and I stayed here on 20th and 21st February 2025. The manager and his assistant were very helpful. We were allotted an AC room on the first floor. Since the AC in that room did not work, we were shifted to room 101 on the ground floor. The room, the bathroom and the bed linen were satisfactory. The Ac worked properly. The fan was making a lot of noise, so we did not use the fan. The hotel assistant helped us get tea and late our lunch too. |Surprisingly the manager refused to accept UPI payment and demanded cash. We were a bit short of cash and had to seek the help of a local stranger to get cash on transfer to him. |The hotel is located near both the foothills of SHolingur temples. We had good Darshan at both temples. The climb was enjoyable. The smaller hill had 406 steps and the bigger hill had 1306 steps.

This location is well-suited for a day of relaxation. Although the facilities may not be impeccably clean, guests can refresh themselves and unwind in the space provided. It is situated in a serene area that is easily accessible from the main road, being just one kilometer from the Periya Malai Temple. Please note that room service is not available, and the waiting area is quite limited; however, the establishment remains an economical choice.

We stayed for one night to cover both the temples, it was charged at 1200/-. It's near the temple pond and parking available. Rooms were nice and clean and room service was very friendly. Highly recommended for family visiting temple. Lift facility available and there are two rooms in the ground floor too. Vegetarian hotels available near the entrance of the road which is hardly 300 meters.

If you want a room just for a stay and you have things to do outside and expect just a clean, nice and comfortable space that doesn't hurt your pocket then this is it. Especially in a place like sholinghur to get such a stay is not easy.

excellent Loadge accommodation which is very close to 'starting point of the temple.The rooms are very well maintained, clean, very spacious with a big bed and an attached bathroom with a number of facilities like room service, parking and room amenities TV & AC. The owner of the property, staff are very helpful and you don't feel like you are lost in a different town, no language barrier, and mostly feel like at home. Really very good..

A fairly ok budget place for a short halt. We stayed to visit the temple enroute Bangalore to Chennai. Rooms are clean, bathroom basic. Hot water only available in the morning, we had to leave by 4 am, so a cold bath. No room service . Our room did not have ac, but there are other rooms with that facility. Fairly close to the temple, a very nice view of the temple from the top floors . No restaurants closeby. Parking is in front of the building.
