Shanmugavelu Ravindran

Such a beautiful place to stay. An old building but they have renovated it well and the wood works are so good. It has around 12 rooms, a big varanda and a small parking lot! .

I was instantly started liking the place once i had alighted at the one man reception. Mr Natryasamy is the sole person takes care of the entire hotel, who is very courteous and helpful. The complete atmosphere is very serene and amazing experience even though it is situated at the main road. The rooms & bathrooms are very clean and nicely maintained. A very good vegetarian restaurant Nalapagam is just few minutes walk away. Temple entrance is also very close by. ||Better to book the room in advance to plan your travel as there are only 12 rooms available. The authentic look and interior done is very lovable. One can feel a home away from home in Peacock inn.

After reading reviews of tripadvisor, I booked a room at Peacock Inn, Palani. As contained in the reviews, the hotel is an excellent one, very near to bus stand and hardly half km from palani temple. Excellent atmosphere and rooms. A bit of old fashioned but very nice. The manager of the hotel, Mr. Natraj was very helpful and kind. He can also be used as a guide for local visits. A very nice person and reliable. Check in was very smooth and also the stay. I really enjoyed the stay and highly recommended to others. A very quiet location. Only disadvantage is that it does not have inhouse catering. However, due to proximity to bus stand, there are lot of decent restaurants near the hotel.

Was there just yesterday and loved the place. Apparently, it was a kalyana mantapam that the owners bought and remodeled as a lodge. Rooms are big, spacious and aesthetically done. The place is clean and well looked after by the caretaker. It is very near the adivaram murugan temple and also the start of steps to climb the Palani hills. Highly recommended.

The building: An old wedding hall (kalyana mandapam) has been converted into an accommodation facility. Hats off to the owners for opting to retain the architectural charm of the ancient building. ||||Location: It's quite easy to miss the Inn and drive past it as it does not have any big boards depicting its name; the fact that it is located immediately after a curve makes it even more difficult to locate the place. However, the locals are quite helpful in providing directions. ||||The Inn is located adjacent to the Devar statue. The Winch ticket counter is 1-1.5 km away; one-way auto ride to the ticket counter costs 50 to 60 Rupees.||||Rooms: There are only 12 rooms and all of them are located on the ground floor. The rooms are located at the periphery of a high ceiling hall. The room was reasonably spacious and clean, with comfortable air conditioning (Godrej AC) and TV.||||Unlike most modern-day accommodations, there is no link between the main power supply and room key removal. This is a major plus point, especially in a place like Pazhani, where it tends to get extremely hot in the afternoons. Thus, one can leave the room with the peace of mind that the room will be cool upon return.||||It's advisable to carry towels and soap.||||Hospitality: It's a one-man show. The caretaker is extremely courteous and soft spoken. He generally sits inside but has a good view of who's entering and leaving. Thus, don't be surprised if you walk-in and find no one at the reception!||||Food: There is no attached restaurant. However, Hotel Nalabagam (New Tirupur Lodge) is a five-minute walk and serves excellent South Indian food.||||Con: The only con is the parking space. Though there are 12 rooms, only four cars can be parked. The nearby New Tirupur Lodge has an extremely spacious parking lot.

This hotel looks classical very neat rooms. They have converted an old south indian house into an hotel. Good experience. 10 mins from the temple entrance. Highly recommended for budget travelers. The hotel does not have the restaurant but lots of places to eat nearby. No restaurant but there are many around the hotel hence not an issue.

I highly recommend this place for people traveling first time to Palani, since theyare lots of brokers who can cheat you as soon you arrive so be careful for stay and as well for darshan..Met Mr.Natraj Swamy in peacock inn, who was helpful enough to tell correct darshan timings and procedures. Peacock inn is clean and decent place to stay. Was really surprised by the place which has traditional Tamil archiectures and well maintained ambience. Had stayed with family of about 5 people for a night, worth the price. With Lord's blessings, darshan was too wonderful and satisfied...wishing you all a blessed pilgrimage to Palani!!!

last time we visited 9 months before with family to have darshan of Lord Subramanya. After searching many hotels showed to us by local guides at Palani finally I my self searched and found this hotel to be a nice one for a calm stay with family. Only disadvantage was you do not have attached restaurant there as its only Lodging. The rooms were very clean and tidy... For food, U can walk a little around 500 metres to have good vegetarian food in the near by circle.
