Good stuff : Awesome service deserves a special mention. Food was great , nice home cooked meal of great taste... The rooms were clean and comfortable too.... Barbeque, open air theater, swimming pool all were good and best part of the resort. The back waters were beautiful too ... Not so good stuff : the property itself was sort of beat up due to fengal storm.... It's still under renovation, so probably will be good once all the upkeep is done.... Otherwise it's worth the price and some more too....

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mugathuvaram, and it was truly a delightful experience. The staff were incredibly warm and hospitable, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. The highlight of our dining experience was their Chicken Chinthamani--an absolute culinary masterpiece that left us craving more. The rooms were spotless, with fresh linens and comfortable pillows, making our stay cozy and restful. Overlooking the tranquil backwaters, the resort exudes serenity and offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The swimming pool was another highlight of our stay--well-maintained and inviting, it provided a refreshing way to unwind while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. One of the standout features was their open-air theatre, where we enjoyed a memorable movie night under the stars--a unique and charming touch. Mugathuvaram is undoubtedly a gem for a weekend getaway. Kudos to the team for their excellent service and attention to detail! Highly recommended!

We went as a family of 6. A good place to relax and enjoy. The staffs are friendly. Outdoor theatre experience was good. Food was tasty. Suggestion to management - Signboard to be placed along the way to reach the place, Food price is a little costly, Fan to be provided for the outdoor theatre. Our overall experience was good.

My stay there was very comfortable. I was traveling alone and stayed there . I felt at home and bery safe. Staff was very polite and helpful. Food was very tasty in home style but sea food was extraordinary..They had guided me and picked me up from the entrance itself. I would suggest everyone to stay here if you are coming near pondi...

100km from Chennai. But it's worth spending time with family and friends. Very neat rooms. AC is excellent. well maintained place. Food they provide is top notch. Barbeque is fun.

Rooms were fine but the services were pathetic. And the location is quite remote. A 4 wheeler just about gets in through the route. And we faced a lot of issues while reaching there. The road to the hotel doesn't belong to the owners nor is it public. They have illegally made a trail through private property which caused us problems from the other owner. (Reply to the owner) We were stopped by a lady stating that you would not stop the canal going to the backwaters. But you made a road on top of that. Anyway that's your matter. But we were threatened by her saying that she would pelt stones on the vehicle if we ever come by that route. We literally wasted half an hour fighting for something which you didn't settle. The road itself is extremely narrow, barely a 4 wheeler could go that way.

It was very pleasant experience with such a hospitality, food was really good, they had a greeny environment with nicely maintained and the personal care shown to us in excellent manner....we grilled our own BBQ with lots of fun

Trust. I'm giving a genuine review on this place. Please note that reviews are subjective and vary on individual interests and requirements. -- Our requirement --- 1. 5 bedrooms with all rooms having AC 2. Lawn and open place for the kids to play around 3. Neat swimming pool 4. Privacy 5. Timely food Mugathuvaram ticked all of our checklist . What we liked - The resort/ farmhouse has a beautiful and large land ( may be more than 2 to 3 acres) covered with trees, lawn, and individual rooms. The toilets are neatly maintained ( again, dont expect brand new washrooms. The closers are clean and well maintained ). Rooms are well maintained but have some usage marks not visible ( again, can not avoid). The lawn and other areas are well maintained. The rooms have queen size and accommodate only two adults and should opt for extra floor bed. In a total of 5 rooms, they have only one room with two full beds, and the rest all have one double bed. They have a rule to opt only from their kictchen food and its compulsory. Actually, in a way, it's good casue you will not get any good food in that locality. The taste is good and tastes good ( best part complete home food). Again, for the money we paid for our group, it's worth the money, and taste desires/ food options are subjective. Dont expect hotel taste . it's pure home cooked and authentic. They have a separate dine area, and it had AC, dont expect restaurant setup , a room with tables and charis. Pleasant back water view! ---What needs improvement and things we dint like 1. Phone nerwork is bad in this place , they need to proper wifi for playing music of our own for partying 2. The road to this place is a little narrow, and my SUV had scratches on the way back due to protruding fence wires. They need to lay a proper road and maintain the fencing to ease guest transits 3. The food is fixed, and you need to pre-order based on your needs and dont expect 24/7 kitchen support cause this place is designed that way. 4. Please provide water to individual rooms with separate bottles rather than going in search of a common bubble top to refil water with no galses provided near the rooms. Felt like school Overall, great place to stay for a group of 10 to 15 people with kids and definitely not for couples, small families ( cause.you may end up paying for all the 5 rooms) or may have to share the place with someone else. The place is secluded, and that's fine. We felt safe. The person Mugilan is very supportive and my regards to him. This is not a resort. May be they planned like a resort, but its a farmhouse or regular ecr Beach houses which feels better than the rest due to its resort like layout. You also need to stock your snack, drinks, and rest cause you will not get anything nearby. ***please note that the review is based on the MONEY we paid for two nights, the purpose we had, and the requirements we had for our group. *** best suitable for 3 or 4 families who want to get away. rest, eat , sleep, and swim .For bachelors, any place is fine, and it doesn't matter.
