This Heritage Hotel was one of the highlights of my stay in India.|Our group spent 2 nights here, & it is set in the village of Nimaj & we were taken through the village to the hotel in bullock carts, which was such fun! The village children followed us laughing & playing & the Palace is an incredibly interesting old building with a surprise round every corner. We were warmly welcomed by 3 sareed ladies singing then & sat on the patio with a refreshing fruit juice while our cases were taken to our rooms. The rooms were on the ground floor & the gardens were lovely & there was a swimming pool. My rooms ( suite) was were gorgeous & spacious & decorated & furnished in a traditional Indian manner. |The staff were all extremely helpful & friendly.|We enjoyed a rooftop dinner & fireworks display with traditional dancing & music on our first evening. It was very enjoyable.|I would like to have spent longer in this wonderful hotel.

This hotel is a genuine historical building as opposed to a modern one built to look old and as such is a very interesting place to stay. There's no wifi in the rooms but if I remember correctly it works in the restaurant (sort of). The food was OK, with very friendly service. The rooms and bathrooms are enormous but could do with refurbishing. The power fails periodically but comes back on again within a few minutes so no real problem.
Could not believe one such place exists, Awesome heritage property. The rooms are huge and very well maintained, No TV in the rooms and NO wifi. So please be prepared. the rooms are spic and span and the aircon works very good.||There is a pool. If you are going there please inform them about the food in advance. We had delicious food of our choice. ||Payment by cash only. So please take cash with you,. If not there is an ATM near by to withdraw money and pay.||Peaceful place for a relaxed holiday
Nimaj Palace is located at the back wall of the town of Tehsil Jaitaran. That sounds like a strange description but after the hotel there doesn't seem to be anything else.||We were on a tour for two organised by an unscrupulous tour operator. When we turned up at the hotel they weren't expecting us so they gave us a really shocking room. There were no windows so it was dark and gloomy meanwhile the bathroom taps came off in your hand, luckily the water flow was terrible so I didn't create a flood. The room itself was up a set of stairs that were very uneven, one step had risers that were 30cms high and the next would be 60cms. This might be great for younger guests but for us (both over 60) it was hard going.||The next morning I complained and we were moved to a ground floor room which was much better but still fairly basic. We had our meals in the restaurant (the food was always good and the staff always helpful) and were taken on a walk through the town by the manager. That was an eyeopener of how the other half live.||The owner approached us on the second day and said we would have to pay the bill ourselves as they wouldn't wait for the tour operator to pay. We agreed, we could see their point.||We paid up but left with a bad feeling, we felt a little bit guilty as if we were the ones not to be trusted.||However, while we were there they organised a folk dancer and a band of musician for entertainment which we saw for free. They also have a nice swimming pool.||If they know you're coming they can organise a bullock cart to bring you to the hotel for a it of fun. Obviously we missed out on that.
the manager was very helpful showing us a local Jain temple and antelopes via jeep and even welcomed into his family home when we went for an evening stroll! The rooms were spacious and clean and the owner's daughter i law gave us a fun cooking demonstration which the children loved and they have cooked the recipes at home since
We spent a night here in December 2011 and found the place much less attractive than other posters or its website implicated. The buildings are not gleaming white and elegant but look more run down. The dining room was less spectacular than on the website, only gloomily lit (for just six guests huddling around one table). Although december is supposed to be a good travelling time it was very cold and thus the outside space like the terrace hardly usable after 6 pm and also indoors it was rather uncomfortable. The pool was the main water ressource for flocks of doves and accordingly the area soiled and full of feathers. It was ok for an overnight stay but nothing we would actively choose for a holiday place.
Off the Jodhpur Ajmer highway is this little gem from the past, a serene, quiet old haveli welcoming weary visitors.||The road leading to it is narrow passing through Nimaj town and we got a bit apprehensive but once inside the gates, we were in another world. An expansive old-world haveli, charming and peaceful. Our room was so large one could build an apartment inside it and still have space left. No telephone, no television which was entirely to our liking. We were the only guests on that night and we got the royal treatment, and a butler.||Dinner was excellent with the taste of home in the chicken and the 'lauki'. And we had proper cloth napkins which to me is a sign of good service. So was the breakfast with home made preserves.||The property is a time-machine to a regal past and a time-out in a hectic world. Many modern facilities are lacking but who would stay there for that?
We were there in November 2018. There was only our group of 4 and our guide as guests. Our room was very, very large but in a wing with abandoned rooms next door. There are corridors and steps leading off in all sorts of directions. As an example of traditional maharaj constructions it's impressive. As it is off the beaten track there is little tourism and limited funds to invest in the rehabilitation of this massive site. Too bad it really must have been something in its heyday. The staff tried very hard to provide to all our needs. The visit of the local villages and temples was most interesting and worthwhile.||The place was clean but in need of love and attention but nothing was really wrong.
