The beautifully restored Malji Ka Kamra Palace is accommodation straight out of a fairy tale. We were given a room upgrade and were lucky enough to have a large room with a balcony. The entire staff was incredibly friendly. Rakesh Rathore in particular looked after us very attentively and warmly and made our stay perfect. The entire hotel was spotlessly clean and well maintained, full of interesting photos, books and objects. The manager spared no time or effort in telling us the history of the house, giving us tips for walks in Churu and helping us organize our onward journey. We were also lucky enough to meet Mr. Singh at the hotel, a historian who shared his valuable knowledge of the local culture with us and even took us on a tour of the museum. The food (both breakfast and dinner) was freshly prepared and delicious. The Malji Ka Kamra is a real discovery, we hope to return at some point and recommend it one hundred percent without reservation. Churu is a place full of impressive havelis that we very much hope will be carefully but soon renovated so that many people can continue to experience this Rajasthani heritage in the future.||Translated with DeepL.com (free version)||

this hotel is a fantastic gem. while unassuming from the front, within hides a gorgeous haveli ballroom-turned-hotel. since the renovation, refreshed, century-old features dominate. my favourte of those were the original wooden doors, complete with metal spikes and latches. ||our bedroom was spacious, intricately decorated, clean and comfortable. we slept well in the king sized four-poster bed. the spacious front yard shields the guests from churu's incessant traffic noises. i enjoyed spotting a variety of birds on the hotel grounds.||the hotel's most priced feature is its excellent staff from the front gates to the back kitchen. special mention to our attentive and friendly server, rakesh, as well as to our well-connected expert guide, lal. thanks to them and their team, we felt welcomed and well taken care of during our whole 5-night stay. ||we could not be happier with the stay. we give the place our highest recommendations to any adventurous travellers looking to connect with history while exploring the area. we also recommend you do ask the knowledgable lal for the sunset/sunrise safari! seeing the dunes, the flowers, the birds, and other fauna in the desert surrounding churu is an unmissable experience. another recommendation we have is for the king thali dish for dinner, but make sure to bring your appetite! ||||ps.|for expectation management, it is worth noting that their wifi was not highly reliable during our stay. this did not affect us at all as the area has great 5g cell service.

Fabulous experience. The hotel guide and restaurant server were the best. If you want an out of the ordinary experience visit Churu and the market. The city tour and markets are so interesting and fun. Don't miss an opportunity to stay in an old restored Haveli in the old town.

The property is beautiful! This place is located around all the other havelis..making the overall feel and aesthetics very nice. Excellent hospitality, amazing food.. the breakfast arrangement after the safari was perfect. We went for new years.. and the New Years Eve was made super special for all of us...from cultural programme to puppet show and fireworks.. there was everything..! And all this was made possible by the amazing and super warm hosts.. Mrinal and Arvind! Thank you to the entire team of Malji Ka Kamra

Rakesh and his staff looked after us very well - the breakfast in the desert was great as was the candle lit dinner at the reservoir. Lal's led tour in the desert was first class, with his love and knowledge of the natural world. Also his tour of the Havelis in Churu displayed his knowledge of these magnificent but sadly neglected buildings. The two days at Malji Ka Kamra were a really immersive experience.|George and Vivienne

Staying at Malji Ka Kamra is like stepping back in time while enjoying all the modern comforts. This beautifully restored heritage haveli seamlessly blends its rich history with warm hospitality. The intricate frescoes, vintage architecture, and well-maintained interiors give a glimpse into Rajasthan's royal past. The service is exceptional, with staff going the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay. The food is a delightful mix of traditional and local flavors, making each meal a memorable experience. From the warm welcome to the personalized attention, every detail reflects their dedication to guest satisfaction. Whether you're a history enthusiast, a culture lover, or simply looking for a peaceful getaway, Malji Ka Kamra is a perfect choice. Highly recommended for those who appreciate heritage charm with modern comforts! Special thanks to Narayan bhaiya for organising the good off road drive & sand dune dinner.

Malji Ka Kamra, a beautifully restored 100-year-old haveli in Churu, Rajasthan, is a prime example of ancient Indian architecture. Originally in ruins, the property was approved as a heritage site and transformed into a heritage hotel after eight years of dedicated restoration by the Balan family. The building, constructed in 1924, features Italian-inspired architecture with intricate statues on each pillar, vibrant fresco paintings, and elegantly decorated interiors that remain untouched to preserve authenticity. The two-floor structure has a grand reception area on the ground floor, and the first-floor rooms retain their original wall and ceiling paintings by skilled artists. A large lawn in front of the property enhances its regal appeal, while an expansive terrace makes it ideal for family gatherings and various activities. The hotel offers a unique opportunity to experience the grandeur of Rajasthan's noble past. Visitors can take a guided heritage tour for a nominal fee of 200, exploring the haveli's rooms, balconies, and breathtaking city views. It also organizes heritage walks showcasing Churu's historic havelis, sandalwood craftsmen, and laakh bangle makers. For adventure enthusiasts, dune bashing experiences can also be arranged. The service is personalized, reflecting traditional Rajasthani hospitality. Guests are treated like noblemen, with staff ensuring their needs are met. Instead of intercoms, visitors must call the caretakers directly on their mobile phones, adding an old-world charm to the experience. While the food is highly praised, some guests have found the breakfast service to be slow. Despite its historical essence, Malji Ka Kamra does not compromise on comfort. The rooms are designed like palace chambers but equipped with modern bathrooms. The hotel offers a peaceful and calm environment, making it a perfect weekend getaway. During winter, guests can enjoy a bonfire in the spacious lawns, enhancing the experience of a royal stay. While it provides a luxurious stay, some visitors find it expensive. The hotel's commitment to maintaining authenticity, coupled with its unique service approach, makes it a memorable place to stay. Situated in the heart of Churu, Malji Ka Kamra is surrounded by historical structures. However, due to urban encroachment, the approach road is quite narrow, making accessibility a challenge. Additionally, parking is limited in the immediate vicinity, and some visitors find the surrounding neighborhood less welcoming. Though accessibility can be difficult, the hotel's charm, architecture, and cultural experiences make it worth the visit. Whether for its rich history, architectural beauty, or immersive cultural experiences, Malji Ka Kamra is a must-visit for travelers seeking an authentic taste of Rajasthan.
