HOTEL GRAND PUNJAB (since1967)

The restaurant is located at the northern end of the service lane of the highway. It serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines. The renovated building has rooms for guests as well. We had malai kofta and roti during our recent visit. The share of kofta was less than expected, and it lacked sponginess. The rotis were good. The dining area was neat and clean; I had no issues with that. The service could have been faster. Overall, it was a satisfactory experience.

Stayed here in December 2015 for 1 Night. I'll put the review of the place in terms of pros and cons:||||**** PROS *****||||1. Picturesque location. Surrounded by hills all around. Ample greenery in the complex and well built.||||2. The hotel is of quality construction and nothing budget was as such encountered. ||||3. The rooms are large, airy and H-U-G-E in size with all the modern amenities. Sofas were provided for seating.||||4. The rooms were neat and clean alongwith the washrooms. Toiletries were provided.||||5. The main manager is helpful. He's more than willing to help if the things are in his hands.||||||**** CONS ***||||1. Location : When i booked this hotel, it was mentioned that it's in proximity to Mount Abu. But don't be fooled as i've already committed the mistake once, this hotel is 40 Kms from Mount Abu *facepalm*. The hotel is more suited for the tourists who want to visit Ambaji temple in Gujrat as the resort is just 5 kms away from the temple and around 0.5 Kms from Gujrat- Rajasthan border. So basically the Gujratis turn up to the neighbouring state to quench their thirst for alcohol.||||2. Service : The room attendants aren't dedicated at all to the service unlike manager. When the order was placed for food from the inhouse restaurant, the room attendant turned up with a dish which wasn't even ordered. He didn't note the order in the first place itself and was banking on his memory, moreover refused to take that away dish when asked to.||||3. The worst part : HOT Water. The hotel relies on a system of Solar water heaters which was insufficient to meet the requirements of the guests. The rooms were occupied fully and all the hot water drained out fast and there was no availability. When it was complained, another room attendant came and termed the tap water around 10 degree Celsius perfectly warm to have a bath in the chill of north India. After much haggling, he finally agreed to provide hot water sourced from outside and after waiting for over 30 mins, returned with around 1/4th of the bucket of *warm* water, forger hot water and ruthlessly replied, be content with it.||||5. Connectivity : There's no availability of WiFi in the hotel. And the worst part, no mobile networks for Airtel & Vodafone. Only Idea & BSNL work. You've to travel to either Ambaji (5Kms.) or Abu Road (13Kms) to get the mobile signals.||||Although the hotel is nicely built, i won't recommend anyone to stay here cos the prices aren't in sync with the services on offer. And also, it's way outside the town of Mount Abu.

We stayed here with friends and family for 2 days. I'll be honest the property is very beautiful, however 16 kms away from Abu Road and City Market. Nevertheless Amba Ji temple is just 7 mms from the hotel. The low points are hotel is mainly for drinkers as it is very close to Gujarat border and people on the go would relax here. Hotel Bar is bigger than Restaurant and reasons are obvious. ||Rooms are spacious and clean no complaints on that part. Staff is good but they are not professionals and majority of them doing everything. Hot water supply is available but can't guarantee 24 hours supply. We had trouble in morning and for 2 hours there were no supply of hot water, finally poor fellow has to run with buckets and get hot water on gas stove.||Good place to stay for Bachelor guys. Family can look alternatives.

Good place for tasty food near the railway station. Sitting space is okay and on one table group of 4 can accommodate. It's a normal hotel and don't expect any VIP hotel in that area. Food quality is good. We ordered Mix Veg and butter roti. Taste was good. You'll see many hotels in the lane. Make sure you see my pic properly and reach out to a proper place.

On checking in, we were offered another hotel in vacinity which is newly built and rooms were very clean. It is Basic hotel with very basic facilities in this price range. This hotel is in Abu road and 22 kms from Mount Abu. Good for people who wants to stay near railway station or Bus station. Rooms are small but okay for overnight trips. Hotel staff is good and prompt. Car parking is not available but the staff took care of the car

I stayed for 4 days at the Hotel Bhagwati International. The stay was really nice and so are the staff. Upon arriving I found myself in a valley of smiles. Entering the room, it was clean and quiet. The bathroom is also spacious and very clean. The shower seems to be bigger than my house. The bed was one thing...

It was a good hotel, but the cost charged by Cleartrip was much higher for the property. The kind of location and property it should not be more than 800 rupees for a AC room. Because this is a small very small town and the hotel rates are almost equal to Metros.

To much oily spice panner and chana masala. 180/thali. I didn't like the sabzi & Gulabjamun but roti, papad, etc was good. Should have tried other shop. No air cooling inside shop.
